Might be worth a sticky thread on a "what to look for" checklist b4 signing off.

I've got an S550 one that someone posted here about 12 months ago, although mostly the same for S650 there might be some model specific nuances to be aware of. Anyone know if there is an S650 specific checklist floating around the US forums?

I did the same with my 21.5 GT, especially leaving all the Factory Stickers :)
So good! All the external stickets they left in an envelope for me.

Picking up this beast tomorrow, going to be the longest 24 hours of my life

recommend letting them wash the car and prep the car as normal
Just a word of caution regarding having the car delivered "as is" -

I would recommend letting them wash the car and prep the car as normal. I know that sounds like a bombshell coming from me, but you want to see the condition of the car before handing over that cheque. I have been shown of a Darkhorse than arrived off the truck with several dents and a scratched-up wheel, damage that got past "quality control" and/or inflicted during transport. You want to SEE that, or at least have the detailer pick up on it and have it rectified prior to delivery.

From my perspective, you are going to have to polish the car anyway, your brand-new Mustang wont be blemish free from the factory.................no car is, regardless of purchase price. So the potential of a few love marks being inflicted during the pre-delivery wash is nothing in grand scheme of things. Just don't let them polish the car, just wash it, pre-delivery inspection, perhaps keep the build stickers and sheets.
Agreed! My dealer was pretty good. Straight of the truck, put into the show room to let me inspect to make sure all was okay, then hidden away until a little PD, basic wash then pickup.

One more sleep! Don't forget to check for the Locking Wheel Nut Key and Fuel Funnel in the boot.

Getting some serious envy with all these S650's being delivered!! Cool to see after such a long wait for everyone. Yet to see one in the wild, but I am sure that wont be far away.

Theyre parked close to eachother

I wonder how often the movers damage the cars,
Theyre not moving mclarens so they probably treat them like airline luggage
If your dealer tells you about an extra (unexpected) delay of a week or so, it's probably getting some panel damage fixed and a respray!
And it might take a few years before any mismatches become obvious. Some of these fancy metallic colours would be an absolute bastard to match properly.

Well after chatting to the dealership and Ford Australia, it appears my order is gone. While we were all pleasant, neither could provide a satisfactory answer as to how a day 1 order and an existing NSC drops off into the void. 2 years of wasted time!

Congrats to all that managed to get a Dark Horse. I'm just thankful I hadn't sold my existing Mustang ahead of time.

This was one of my concerns for most of that 2 year wait, so you have my sympathy. The lack of communication between Ford, Ford Australia, dealers and customers makes a situation you find yourself in highly probable. Ford should be compensating you for this in some form or another.
