I'm slowly getting used to them. I've learned to use voice control for the basics "Hello Ford I'm hot", set temperature to 68 degrees" etc. I haven't yet discovered one to change the blower speed yet though which is probably the feature I use the most.

You should see the controls in wifey's 2024 VW Atlas. Most of the screens turn buttons blue when they are active. Especially the "On button".

Not on the A/C screen.

Pressing the button to make it blue turns it off.

German engineering at it's finest

I recently drove a Dark Horseā€¦ maybe Iā€™m just too old or too simple but doing anything in that car on the screens was too complicatedā€¦.

im sure my teenage daughters could have figured it out but if I canā€™t figure it out in the first 60 seconds itā€™s too dang complicated

I felt like an idiot kept on asking the salesman how to adjust things ā€¦

Glad Iā€™m not the only one. I have no clue how to control ac or heat or fan. Just a guessing game for me, and I always guess wrong.

Can't say as I'm having any trouble turning stuff on/off or adjusting settings on the fly, but these "all on screen" controls aren't any better than knobs and buttons. They're just "different"; which isn't the same as "better".

PS: glossy screens + innumerable greasy finger prints = suck. Just sayin....................šŸ˜‰

For instance...

This morning my windows fogged up. instead of going through screens to turn on defrost, i just hit the max defrost button. It blasts max hot air. Then instead of going throught screens i just hit the max defrost button to turn it of. Well then the system goes into auto blasing the AC through all the vents. How about an on and off on the bottom controls ribbon.

I wonder. Most of the controls in the 2024s are set and forget. Those things you might want back on (traction control?) you turned off during setup can be rearmed. About all I can think of is the defrosters, so what's the big deal?

I just leave the temp alone. Everything is automatic so unless you are constantly going through hot and cold flashes I see no reason to constantly adjust. I set it to 69 degrees and leave it be. Once in awhile I will adjust the Auto fan speed (if car is left in sun), but usually leave it on low.
I think this is the thought the engineers had about it.

On a side note , the seat fans in these cars are absolutely ridiculously loud !

I drive a convertible in weather that can vary from 50 to 80+ in a day. And in the morning the windows fog up due to the temp in the garage and outside. What i would like is simple buttons instead of 3 different screens to set climate controls.

As I've written before, I'm not really happy with the dash controls in my GT. I can understand the frustration of many people. I have a 2022 Chevy Equinox. The screen is simple and quick. The screen on my 24 GT reminds me of the old tube type radios that had to warm up to operate. When I start my GT, the motor is in high rev, and the screen seems to take forever to fill in. It's a great car but the IT folks at FORD should quit playing with their X-BOX and let "CAR" people design controls.

Suck!

Maybe i am old but physical buttons/wheels are just to easy.

While it is not complicated it is just wonky how it works.
Agreed, I much rather prefer physical buttons as it is just much easier to mess with while driving and just in general

While I am a fan of all the screens, I think theyā€™re doing too much.

I wouldnā€™t mind it if it was fast. But going into the car and the OS itself is buggy and slow and feels like it needs a warm up like the engine. Absolutely awful when itā€™s super hot in the car and it takes you a couple minutes for the climate menu to even load

I'll never understand the design. They even give us a row of buttons... That I never use. Would of been a great spot to put climate control buttons there.
