This is one of the pitfalls of most modern cars and Mustangs. Small leaks and holes might not be an issue. Anything significant, forget about it.It turned on and everything, just didn’t “patch” the hole and didn’t inflate.
This season, I purchased a spare from Automotive Authority.

Chat them up about options for the S650. In the S550, the spare will clear the cover, so it appears all stock, with the space saver underneath.
An alternative, drivers taking long-distance trips, might want to fab up a full-sized spare.
While you're at it, consider a set of booster cables.

I've purchased and used (helping out someone else) these. Plenty long, heavy, well-built, with an in-line gauge to measure voltage.
Edit,
I've got 19s and Brembos. The AA spare works fine. The rim and tire are also within 3% of the tires' diameter I'm using now. Before they shipped anything, they e-mailed me to confirm rim and tire size, to ensure I was going to get something that would work.
