That’s also the interesting thing about the name, more people hate the name than people who don’t mind it. Everyone wants a sedan. Since that’s the only issue it’s funny that Ford doesn’t change that one thing to get EVERYONE on board.

On IG I saw a guy state there were more likes on one comment asking for a name change then there are positive comments all together on 2 different media platforms. That’s not even considering other comments that agree.

but we’ll see, it’s a interesting time to be an enthusiast. Since I know it’s happening anyways I’ve been enjoying the different povs
Would a bronco sedan scavenge existing bronco sales?

A Bronco 4Everglades should keep the Bronco around this time. As long as it has the attitude and swagger of a Bronco.

Seems the identity is clearly defined. Would renaming a bronco a mustang make it so?

I'm of the mind, if Ford needs performance sedan, they need to bring back the SHO twin turbo V6!
already have that with the 3.5 ecoboost (with one turbo)

TTV8 would be a far better performance tier. They can do ecoboost as the base - like they do with mustang.

That’s for a charger/torino kind of car.

a small focus type would do well with the 4 banger - and ev option.

A friend of mine in Denver, owns a SHO with twin turbos that is a real hoot to drive due to the AWD system. If Ford does do a 4 door Mustang, maybe it'll have AWD as an option?

Speaking of AWD.

Mach 4 is a better name for a performance AWD system, like GR Four, symmetrical AWD, or Quattro.

Mach 4 AWD for quicker launches makes sense.

Yes it does! It is a shame that Ford doesn't watch this forum anymore. I can't say even then if any of the data here got to management, for what it is worth. Too bad really.

I saw this concept render online… what do you guys think? Would you buy a 4 door Mustang GT Mach 4?

Could be the perfect sports car sedan for the family or people that want looks and V8 power with practicality!
Would I buy that car?
YES. 100 percent I would buy that car...provided it had a V8 option. While I personally prefer an automatic, I get there are those that want to row their own, so yes, the manual should be an option.

If the 3.5 TT was the highest performing option (and no, I am not advocating for it), it would also need an AWD setup (RWD Biased) and it would need to the 450 hp/500 ft lbs of torque version, or one with higher HP and Torque figures.

I sure would! Make it look similar to that with a 5.0/6spd and I'll surely be a customer.

Would you buy it if it wasn’t named mustang?

Thunderbird, Torino, Falcon, Mach 4 (not Mustang Mach 4, just Mach 4), Mustang, Mustang II, Mustang XL, Mustang GT-XL, Mustang LX, whatever. Doesn't matter to me.

That said, it's what appeals to the broader customer base that matters, meaning the car buying population. It does not mean the fanbois here (including me) of the mustang. If Ford gets more buyers for the platform overall calling it a mustang, then I am okay with it. If calling it a Falcon gets more buyers for the platform, then call it a Falcon. Name does not matter to me.

EDIT - I would like to qualify my statement - I would buy it if based on the mustang platform. Bring back the Focus or Taurus platform and shape it like that, and I would NOT buy it, because those platforms were FWD biased. Nose heavy, torque steer galore when putting the foot down, those platforms are not for me. RWD or RWD biased AWD, and a balanced stance (53/47 is okay, 55/45 is about the lowest I would go, 50/50 is best).

If I understand correctly, it’s not the name but rather the build that would entice a purchase.

that's it exactly...to ME.

Again though, it does not matter (to me) what Ford calls it, but they need to give it the name that will get the most buyers to look at it, consider it, and most importantly, purchase it. If that is with the Mustang name, so be it. If that's with a different name, that's okay with me as well.

I won't let the name dictate my purchase decision...okay, if it was a horribly racist name, I would not buy it due to the name, but...
if they named a great vehicle Mustang Mach 4, I would buy it.
If they named that exact same vehicle Torino, I would buy it.
If they create a horrible vehicle and called it Mustang, I would not buy it.
If they called that same horrible vehicle a Probe, I would still not buy it.

EDIT - Let's say it is a new platform (not the S650), then there is no reason to call it a mustang, EVEN IF, they were planning on moving the mustang to that new platform in a few (or even 5) years. If it's not based on the S650 platform and not a code share - which makes ZERO sense considering this car should be designed to take advantage of as many parts/components as possible to reduce overall costs - then definitely call it a Torino, T-Bird, etc.

I mean that’s the consensus across every form of media I’ve seen so far. People want a performance sedan, majority doesn’t like the Mustang name and the people who don’t mind don’t care either way.
