I know this is kinda a weird topic to post, but I need opinions of people with s650's. I've had my S650 for 5 months now, and I'm still torn if I'm happy with it. I daily this car and that's one of the reasons I got it over an older Mustang, cause of the tech and the features that make it more comfortable every day. One thing I've done with cars in the past is making them faster. While I don't want 1,000+hp, I just want more out of the car, I like to build up to things before boost. Right now, I feel like all I can do is suspension and a whipple which aren't bad, but being able to make 500whp would be nice before I jump to 700+. I'm torn on whether I should go and maybe sell and buy a Mach 1, s197 gt500, or switch to Chevy and go get a Corvette. I just want to know what others think.

1000 people 1000 opinions.

We can't look at your bank account, private life and mental state.
Just do what feels good for you.
I need those options just something else to have in my brain. I’m real indecisive.

Well, in that case, sell it and buy the car you can tune if that's the thing you're looking for.

1. This is what happens when you buy an untunable car
2. Why bother with 500 when you can just go straight to 700

The 700 would be so much fun I can say that but it’s also about how I get the 700. Having 4 different options on the table vs just whipple right now would be nice. Like a boosted s650 has a roush or whipple which are the same type of supercharger.

I know the feeling... had mine over a year and refuse to upgrade anything until I can get a tune.

For a daily, tech wise I personally would not go backward to a Mach or 500.

If you have the means, a step up to the C8 Z51 is where I'm likely going. Love Mustang, unfortunately, locked, this thing is restricted and don't want to wait much longer for a tune(if ever)

It's gonna cost a lot to *maybe* hit 500 wheel NA on this platform, and that's without the luxury of being able to manipulate the ECU.

I'd put a whipple on it, and if you really want just run a larger pulley to reduce the boost.

Even with the transmission in these, they are heavy thus slow. The mustang made more sense before the ongoing price hikes.

Stickier tires, blower, and then the car would be more amusing. However if you're not willing to drop another $17k USD or more into the car you've already bought, and won't get out of it in resale, walk away now, or be happy with what it is.

This is my first mustang. I thought it was faster. The engine sounds great and it frequently puts a smile on my face. I bought it because if I really want to put a blower on it and keep a "warranty", I can.

The tech is definitely a plus the gt500 probably would be to much of a back step. I was kinda thinking maybe a c7 z06 maybe

It’s my first mustang too and it’s fun every time I get in. I know 500 couldn’t really happen without tuning and that’s where I’m stuck do I wait and then maybe not be able to get out as easy or just back out now and get into something new

i would say if you've had the car for 5 months and you're not sure, theres something there. i played with launch control and no lift shift the other day for the first time. cant wait to hit it again. go use a couple of those track apps. if you're not sure then....

From my point of view nearly 500hp is enough. It's hard enough using that around here short of track days. And we have"boy racer" laws where the cops can impound your car for doing a burnout. They call it sustained loss of traction.
Likewise for "unecessary display of speed".
So for any"christian motoring" you have to be very watchful for cops.
If I were to need more power, I'd throw a blower on, NA tuning generally costs too many dollars per hp.
And I had great results with a Sebring blower on an MX5 years ago.

I use them a little but I have an auto and that could be adding to the problem. I miss manual
