    For those saying "just check the manual", it looks like the very first step for programming additional remotes in the owner's manual states that at least two existing programmed remotes are required. Seems like @s650vert will not be able to complete this process on his own with only a single fob.

    I believe this would be the ambient temperature sensor. These are typically affixed to the lower grille area on modern vehicles to read the outside temperature.
