They are a 180 treadwear. So according to the rating system, they should last 20,736 kms. 6/10 would mean you have driven 12,441 kms. SO the math doesn't work here. Have you had your alignment checked. I picked my DH up 6 days and had them realign it today as it was pulling to the left.
I'm quite sure the guy that said 6/10 had no idea what he was doing. Can't exactly do the coin trick in the tread on these. LOL. I'll keep going for the Summer and swap them out.

I'm going to get about 4000 miles out of the rears with zero burnouts performed.
I understand why ford put these tires on this car but damn. Got to believe Cup 2s hold up better than these things.

I did my research and knew going in, still sucks. Any car that has a 60K warranty should not have these tires.

The 5/60 warranty does not cover wear items.

Tires are wear items.

A 60K tire and the DHHP can't exist together. Those tires would be hard as rocks and grip nothing compared to what you got.

Yeah, I get that. My point is this tire is ridiculous for this car. Even the new z06 in its highest option gets PS4s. That's the tire most of DH handling pack owners will live with. I'd bet there is an extremely low percentage of owners out there that replace tires with the factory OEM. I get why Ford did this. As an owner, I would have given up a few stats for a livable tire. It's really one of the only bitches I have with the car. As I said, I knew it going in. I wanted the wheels, look, and suspension the HP added. But these tires are not offered on any other mass produced car. Even ford performance equips this car with PS4s for the Track Attack. That alone says a lot.

IMHO, the DHHP is offered so you can take your DH right to the track. NOT so you can run a soft soft tire between home and the grocery store.

This is exactly why I bought DH without the DHHP - I never intend to track it.

If anyone did their research one would know these tires are for track. What a useless thread of compaints of anyone not using their car on the track.

This car has three feet of digital screens, a 30lb stereo system, mountains of unnecessary sound deadening, cruse control, lane keep assists (which requires three cameras), heated steering wheel, a back seat as well several other creature comfort accessories. As much as we love it it's a trackable streetcar and not a streetable track car. These tires never made sense for the car.

Trofeo RS tires are a good fit for the R version of the Darkhorse not the one we are pulling off the lots.

Ford primarily uses those tires to get a headline grabbing lap time at the Nurburgring.
Yes, NĂĽrburgring. A track, not the grocery store.

Common sense dictates that, if one doesn't want a car with a track tire on it, one should not opt for the DHHP. Either that, or do it with the FULL expectation that you should not run that tire on the street and expect street tire mileage.

Funny you came out with this now. Your timing is perfect.
My GT came with Continental tires like most of you. On the rare occasion when I stand on it like fast pass, getting out of the way; I find the Contis lose their gripe very easily.
So, I’m looking for recommendations to replace the rear tires with something that will actually stick to the road.
Ideas please…
I’ve been running Yokohama Advan Apex 285/35R19s for about 6 months, much more grip than the stock Contis when warmed up. I’ve only taken them out on one track day so far, but they really performed well. It’s definitely a good option to consider if you want to spend a little less than the Michelin PS4S.

That's why they make this car without that tire too. If you opt for the package made to track, you're going to get the items made to track 🤔

I opted for the wing, wheels and splitter.

Even the non-hp comes with a garbage Perrelli that may last 7K instead of 4.5K miles. Possibly my biggest bitch is that Ford moved away from Michelin...which is just a better all the way down the line. There's a thread on FB about this same subject and people are clearly laying out there how much better Cup 2s are than Trofeos.

I'm within my rights to buy the car and still say Ford screwed up on a tire selection.

None of which provide any real advantage over the non-DHHP when driving on public roadways within the boundaries of the motor vehicle code ... :like:

I can't speak for the Pirelli tires on my non-HP Dark Horse yet, as I only have 1,600 miles on them. But what I can tell you is: I just had the tires replaced on my 2021 F150 yesterday. 60,045 miles on the OEM tires that came on the truck, and all four tires still had 5/32nds or more tread on them. Zero uneven wear. Zero issues. No noise. If you're not familiar with the depths at which tires are recommended to be replaced, those tires easily had another 10K to 15K miles on them before getting down to where they would start to tell you to consider new tires soon (3/32nds).

Those tires were Pirelli tires.

I replaced them because I wanted to get a new AT tire on there before winter, and the local tire chain just had a killer deal on what I have been looking at for a few months -- nearly $300 off the set.

On the track? Or street?

Of course you are. But as I've told many people many times, you are welcome to post your opinions on the Interwebz all day long, but you're going to get all kinds of responses from others, including some dissenting opinions ... :)
