Super excited to finally share this project with you all! Over the past month or so, I’ve been working with Baer Brakes on some validation testing for their Eradispeed+ rotors on the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. Needless to say, the results speak for themselves.

For those that don’t know about the Eradispeed+ Rotors from Baer, they’ve been around since 2015 for the Mustang. It’s a very high-quality direct-fit replacement rotor that typically comes cross-drilled and slotted. I’m happy to report they also offer a slotted-only version for us track folks that are looking for an upgrade that will stand the immense brake temperatures seen out on track.

I was looking for an upgrade that not only had the aesthetic appeal of slotted rotors, but also stood up to the abuses of continual track use.
Before installing the new rotors, I was sure to do some before 60-0 mph testing to get a baseline. Man, this car already brakes amazingly from the factory! After installation, I was pleasantly surprised to see measurably reduced braking distances along with a more favorable temperature curve which bodes well for Baer’s claims for evacuating heat out on course.

And the icing on the cake - a track day at Carolina Motorsports Park! It was my first time out on this track, and I’ll definitely be coming back! The car itself was flawless out on track and the brakes fared well, too!

//Note: I should also add that if you’re doing any kind of brake work on these new 2024 Mustangs, be sure to put the car in Brake Maintenance Mode! I learned this the hard way, but thankfully had a scan tool to clear the codes. I cover the process on how to put it in this mode in the video.

I installed mine yesterday. For a reason that I don't understand, the slotted rotors are few hundred dollars more than the drilled and slotted.

I have one piece drilled and slotted on my S550 and I really like the look of the Baer, so I thought about getting four rotors for it, but despite being smaller, cost more money!

Interesting to see that the DH has lighter rotors than GT. That wasn’t the case with my Mach 1, I lost 10lbs on each front rotor with girodisc slotted.

GT has one piece rotors, DH has 2 piece with the hat section being aluminum, making the DH rotors lighter.

I saw that it was mentioned drilled and slotted vs. just slotted, with the latter being recommended for the track because of heat. Do the Drilled and slotted just not hold up on a tracked car well? I'd like to track mine maybe twice a year at COTA, but like the looks of the drilled an slotted, would I be ok with minimal track use?

The issue with drilling is the process causes microfractures around the hole during manufacturing, this weakens the overall rotor as heat expansipn cycles cause those microfractures to expand over time.

Cracks can be an issue with drilled rotors. I have Baer rotors on my Corvette that I tracked and never had an issue, but I am also a very lousy driver, so I most likely wasn't abusing them as much as a good driver. That being said, when I did my second brake upgrade, I went with slotted only.
