@Mastermind46, you may have addressed this and I missed it. I am inclined to buy a set of these, if they offer the same... Or better filtration properties than the OEM filters. I know you mentioned filtration over flow, but do these FILTER as much or more contaminant from incoming air? Thanks much. Also, how many wash cycles do you forecast these might last?

Just curious if there's anything to worry about with the filters mentioned it this thread here compared to what is being discussed here:

https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/th...-possible-issue-high-flow-air-filters.165360/
Most aftermarket reusable air filters are designed for increased air flow and not filtration efficiency. Cotton gauze and oil are cost effective materials that can meet the Coarse particle size testing standards. I do not think this is a very worthwhile testing standard due to how large the particle size is but I am not aware of many aftermarket filter companies using the Fine particle size or better yet, the ANSI/ASHREA 52.2 (particle size of 0.3 to 10 microns).

If you check out the graphs posted in this thread or on my site, you can see how this filter media compares to an oiled filter being tested on a far more stringent testing standard.

Cotton gauze and cellulose (paper) have thread diameters of over 10 microns whereas these filters have thread diameters less than 0.8 microns. These are synthetic and allow for a very even density across the entire filter (extremely uniform).

There are always going to be some manufacturing issues (the metal piece that came off of the filter) and this ideally gets caught during the QC process but sometimes they make it through to the consumer. The OE Ford filters have a metal mesh lining as well so I am sure they can have the same issue.

I really do not understand the claims of large mileage intervals between cleaning your filters. A filter that isn't getting dirty or clogged in 10k miles of driving is not actually filtering anything out which means more is passing through into your engine. That may be fine for a racecar, but for my daily driver, I want OE levels of filtration.

The biggest downside of our product is that these filters will have to be cleaned far more than once ever 10k miles. The OE filters on my car were in bad shape after ~3500 miles. I would start there for a cleaning interval and adjust as needed. Since these are not oiled, cleaning is a breeze. You can buy two sets or use your OEM while these dry so you have no downtime. A bit more of a commitment on this platform.

These will offer the same filtration as cellulose filters. The testing was done against a different OE filter and not specifically the Mustang filters.

I am not sure on the wash cycles. I have a pair that I have washed 4 times without any noticeable degradation in the media. My testing is not truly real world since I am not using the filters between cleanings. The manufacturer states at least 10 cleaning cycles which for me would be 5 years. I am sure this will vary with use.

Agree 100%. This reasoning is 100% why I bought these filters. I will be hitting the 6k mile mark (3000 miles since filters installed) this week and this weekends task will be cleaning and drying the filters. I'll snap a few pics for the thread. My intent is clean every 3k miles unless I note that they are quite clean (doubtful, the air in Phoenix is terrible).
For good measure I will check the intake tubes for particulates.

I am glad you like the product and that we were able to get shipping figured out! You are most welcome.

It is amazing how many countries we have now shipped to as a very small company. I never would have expected this.

Mine's automatic and I dont even use the paddle shifters, but with these ThInK Auto filters, throttle response does seem slightly quicker and smoother around 2,000 RPM's which is where I spend a lot of time for daily driving.

And yes, installation is incredibly simple as long as you're not an idiot like me and try at first to install without loosening and taking the brackets off the lips of the filters first.

The "performance boost" could all be in my head, but even if so, it makes more sense to me to have washable filters than to pay for 2 new paper filters every time they get dirty. And I think the paper filters are made in Mexico, so if the tariffs actually go into place that'll jack the price of those up even more.

Thank you for your service. At this time, we do not have any discounts. This is something I’d like to explore moving forward once we are established more.

Just checked my factory filters this past weekend and they are finally at the point where they need changing. Definitely will be getting a set of these filters!

Just curious how many miles you have? I'm at around 5900 miles and I've had my car almost a year. I'm going to check on the filters soon as I'm curious to see what they look like at this point.

Got it installed! Only took like 10 minutes. You have to get the bands really loose or else it won't slip on all the way. Looser than you'd think lol.

Thank you all for the continued support. We are getting towards the end of our current stock. When I made the order, I had expected this to last us the entire year. I am very grateful for this surprise.

Please let me know if you have any questions or recommendations. I am hoping to release another couple of filters this year and another product for the S650 but things are moving slowly.
