I have read all the information on adding a subwoofer and watched all the youtube videos om how to install it. My question has anyone amplified the rear and door speakers using the factory speaker wire? I have changed out all of the factory speakers and now they need an amp. I know I will have to use a LOC for the signal just not sure where to pull the signal from or tap into the speaker wire

I admit I'm not a super-duper Audiophile. I don't listen to Dolly straining her vocal cords! In fact, the morning show with Mike Winters on KEND talk radio is enough. However, listening to surround sound (Ford's' rendition) is passable about as much as a decent sound bar is. Even the low end is enough. If you're one of those who like to shake the windows of everyone in your neighborhood, then include me out!

I agree it’s adequate for sure, but I always find myself turning it down to hear that bad ass rumble. How do the new speakers sound with the factory system?

The new speakers bring out the midrange and higher end far superior to the stock speakers, well worth the upgrade

Unfortunately when you add long tube headers, H pipe, and flowmaster mufflers you have to turn up the music to hear over the exhaust note. That's the need for the amp after about 15 on the dial distortion starts. With the pro charger coming soon even more need for the amp.

Good luck with your endeavors. I have been an audiophile practically my entire life, 64 now. If you are able to say that the new speakers bring out the mid and high notes better with more distortion and a ridiculous amount of vibration coming from that exhaust, then your listening ear is different than mine. Especially, since these are 2 of the major factors in obtaining great sound. There are some tests on YouTube where people break down audio systems in cars . I am not sure what you can do with long tube headers, even if you have active exhaust, im not sure how to clean up your sound. More volume?

So the answer is yes if you add an amp then you don't have to turn up the volume as much because you have more power. More power means no distortion. I am 50 years old have had aftermarket subs, and amps in all of my cars since the 90's. But the post was has anyone added a amp to the high end portion of the radio? I like my music loud and clear but Ford has made it a pain in the ass to add stereo. If I would have known this I would have bought the car with the B and O system.

I know it isn't an audio forum so I will say we will have to agree to disagree however, more power is exactly the opposite in my mind. More power equals more distortion. Volume has to do with speaker efficiency and amp load, not necessarily watts. You could post your question on one of the audio forums. They are pretty active and I'm sure they would have some suggestions. I think it would be awesome to have both but long ago I gave up that quest and spent my money on a home system, 1 bucket list item, realized and now I have my first Mustang. Another item crossed off my list. 😀

Arguing about car stereo is about as fruitful as talking politics! Nonetheless, there are a few interesting parallels one can draw between car stereos and those at home.

First, if we could reverse their positions (car to home and home to car) not one person would be happy! Next, comparing either (car or home) to a decent home theater is about as fruitful as the first sentence. One has too much bass, one has too much treble, and the latter more misguidedly hyped than both the formers. Talk about zero sum!

It all goes back to my original question. Has anyone put a amplifier on the mid and high range speakers in there car? I'm asking so I now what wires to connect to I know the wires for a subwoofer and amplifier for low end.
