Not sure where to put this, I guess this is the best forum location.
Below, you will see 2 pics of my 2024 Mustang. The one at night is being hit with IR from my security camera.
I've never seen this with any other car, even ones driving by my cameras. It's weird. It's reflecting IR in a weird way, compared to (for example) the Camaro beside it.
Anyone hear why this is? See the same? Did someone have fun at the factory, and mix up some reflective paint, thinking it might work with laser radar too?
I found this tidbit:
Laser radars radiate in the infrared (IR) part of the spectrum at 904 nanometers wavelength.
My camera has 940nm IR leds. Interesting.
It's almost like it's designed to give a *better* signal to laser radar?! Bleh!
