If you drained oil for 1 hour and you put 10 quarts, you are good to go. No worries.I just changed my oil for the first time (dealer did one before this). I had the front wheels on ramps and drained for at least an hour. I replaced the filter as well. I filled to just under 9 quarts and the dipstick didn't register any oil. I decided to dump the rest of the second jug in (10 quarts total). My dipstick now registers right at the top of the fill range or perhaps a hair over. It is hard to read as oil tends to streak along the stick in places). Is there a chance I have overfilled the engine? Should I be concerned seeing as new manual recommends only 9.5?
Do car manuals list "fill"capacity (including filter) to be added for oil change or instead total capacity as if filling brand new totally empty from factory?
