Not to hijack the thread, but what don't you like about the Ford security system? The one on 401a, ie: the top of the line one, .. Easy to bypass? Unreliable? etc. Thanks...

Does anyone know how thick or high these centering or screw reinforcement are?
I have an eye on a sub with 232 mm diameter and guess dremeling away these small protrusions wouldn't be a big deal:

Please... Can someone actually show how to connect the subwoofer to the Red Line connectors going from four wires to the two speaker connectors. Thanks much!

Literally just finished doing the swap over. Thanks to pictures from others I was able to find all the clips and manage not to snap any of them when removing the trim ring.

Yeah it definitely is a better thump than before. You do have to turn the volume up and have the right song playing to tell but once you do it’s definitely noticeable.

I stuffed the whole package of the fill material recommended in the video into the box. Wasn’t really sure what to do with it so largely packed it in the side cavities and then top and bottom of the box.

Purple/black wire to either of the black(-) terminals and yellow/green to the either of the red(+) terminals. You use all 4 terminals, one wire to each.

I did this. Wish the Pioneer sub fit a bit better and didn't require such trimming.

System sounds way better.

I did not put any polyfill in to reduce the volume of the sub box. If I revisit this I think I will try it with some polyfill. Pretty sure the box is >20L in volume.

Oooor I'll just get a proper sub/box/Amp.

@135Hoser

Then rather try a louder sub first.
The Pioneer needs much more power to come to live than typical other subwoofers.
At 1 Watt its "sensitivity" is 74 db while typical other woofers start at about 84 to 90 db.

To get an idea:
For a volume of 94 db, the Pioneer needs 100 Watts, while a DD Audio Redline RL SW 10 needs less than 10 Watts (!).

And Polyfill will reduce the loudness of the woofer even further.
