anyone tried just wrapping the enclosure with dynamat or similar? First Raptor Mod I did was an implementation of an F150 forum mod

heat gun to the enclosure ; fit a kicker 8”, wrap the sub in dynamat, amp with a 300w kenwood. Even with the bass roll off it was a definite improvement.

I’m following this mod and will probably queue this one up first.

Added this one about a month ago, cheap easy upgrade, It cleans up the sub bass pretty good mainly on music that thumps. On Rock or Country it is more a placebo than anything. The system really does sound like shit for what it cost.

Even with the replacement Pioneer Sub, sound deadening inside the enclosure, try running the system fader all the way back and to the right, it just sounds like a jumbled mess. The rear decklid speakers are so bad I'm thinking of just disconnecting them.

I think one of the biggest problems with this system is the factory EQ parameters are horrid. It is amazing how you can take 900 watts and 12 speakers (actually10) and make it sound so lifeless, no dynamics.

I have seen some videos of S550 owners with the B&O use FORScan to adjust the audio parameters and make it sound better, has anyone tried this on theirs?

is there anyone that makes a whole overhaul set for the entire sound system? i have a 301A with the B&O and im not super impressed with them. I am not tech savy in the audio world so im hoping there is an upgrade kit thats more plug and play.

Not yet, hopefully someone does though even with better speaker components, the factory set audio eq parameters are horrible and would need some adjustments to really sound better.

Yeah, it changed over tha last few hours apparently. More evidence they, or someone, is price gouging when interest rises. It's showing the same $56 price now when I check my previous purchase link. It was $100 earlier. SUSPICIOUS!!! I call SHENANIGANS!!! lol

I wish I had bought shares in Pioneer after doing the upgrade on my S550 and writing the thread. There must be literally hundreds of speakers sold based on my upgrade and thread on S550!

Typically on Amazon they have multiple sellers on a listing. If a seller sells out of products it will go to the next seller which could have their price set differently

I'm totally interested in doing this as well with my car. I find the B&O system to be pretty decent though, others aren't liking it? It's nothing spectacular but I certainly don't find much wrong with it. I regularly listen to electronic/house music with a fair amount of bass punch as well.

I have yet to put it through it’s paces seriously, but I did briefly catch “Take it Easy” on the radio, and to my surprise I could hear the banjo clearly, which is orders of magnitude better than the Raptor stereos from ’17-’20.

I just ordered the REDLINE SW Series 300W 10-Inch Subwoofer EOL (D4) from DD audio. Slightly better efficiency than the Pioneer but doubt one could hear the difference. Close out with no tax. $85.62 includes shipping.
