Continued disappointment in Ford… very unfortunate. I know you’re only getting updates where you can, bfets, but someone at Ford has zero idea of what’s going on

I have a feeling this is exactly why officially they'll only commit to Q1 2025. If they give a more specific estimate and then there's a delay or they find some issue with the fix, everyone loses their shit.
I think the people giving us these unofficial estimates are telling us what they know or what their best guess is, given the information they have.
Ford is paying the dealships money to store these cars and the dealships wants their profit and commission as well. I think everyone wants this nightmare to end, and it will, eventually...

Yeah, I just wonder what’s feeding the estimates and what is actually blocking Ford from just releasing it right now. The fix has been out for close to a month now and dealers are still largely in the dark.

From what I've been told, the fix Ford did to the vehicles in their possession, was a temporary fix which gets overwritten and lost the moment a dealer touches or updates the car during normal dealer update procedures. I think it might have even been done with special equipment that dealers don't have. So it will need to be tested and packaged in a way dealers can manage and deploy it. Of course I don't have the details around that.

I also wonder if Ford Australia has any control over this. Its not like they'll be developing the fix themselves. They'll get it from Ford US. So these delays might just be because Ford Australia didn't get the update and it's not yet signed of by HQ. I'm speculating of course. Who knows

Hey my fellow S650 owners. Spoke to my dealer in first week of January to discuss the disappointment regarding the lack of detail around the recall. Said that I now would like to go back to my original order of vapour blue due in April. She then told me a ship was at the Panama Canal heading for us with a carbonised grey, manual with magneride that was available. They allowed me to swap between the one sitting in the dealership and this new one. I JUMPED ON. It’s a my25 so costing me more but no recall and landing on our shores in early February. I’m sure they’ll sort this recall mess out but happy with my choice.

Yeah I'm trying to be positive, but the only certainty so far is Ford inventing new ways to dissapoint. Olympic gold medal winners of disappointment if it was to be a sport that's for sure.

Yup, I asked my dealer for an update but I highly doubt anything is coming of it. It seems like all unofficial fix dates have been wrong which is a shame because I was really pulling for the 29th. The only hope is it's still the evening of the 28th in the US.

Yeah. And we had dates from two different sources inside Ford. That means even those insiders don't really know when it's happening with 100% accuracy. They don't even communicating properly inside Ford so what hope do we as customers have at that point

The worst part of this is that there is pretty much no remediation other than backing out of your deal if that window is even still open. We can go down and yell at the dealers all we want but even they don't know what's going on and don't even have the fix. I tried to buy my mustang 2.5 months ago and I'm still in the loaner car.

I ordered mine more than 2 years ago and already had PPF applied for thousands of $ in Nov\Dec
There's no backing out for me at this stage.

Ah yeah, I forgot it's pre-orders for you guys, I'm really sorry. I went into my dealership in person, test-drove the RECALLED car on a public highway, came back, negotiated, walked out of finance, and..... here's the keys to your bronco!! If this recall is such a safety hazard I wonder why the dealer is doing demos lol.

Yeah my dealer isn't so lucky either. They have a demo GT on the showroom floor next to my car affected by the same recall. The dealership has paid for the car already, but cannot let anyone drive it or demo it.

Same here. I went in as well and got to test-drive it. They told me that they had no idea it was recalled until a day before I was supposed to take it home. It's been 86 days for me. but I cannot imagine some of yall waiting years and then having to wait even longer cause a stupid recall

I feel i need to say something to cheer your guys up and hopefully keep you hanging in there. We all know Ford America doesn't give a shit about the Australian market, but with the number of 2024/2025 Mustangs making it to the roads in Australia you really do feel like someone special when you're out and about, today two dudes delivered a new washing machine to my house and where super excited to see the car, so I turned it on put it into sports mode and revered it, the look on their faces was priceless, cheer up this will be you very soon.
