One change I do like about the S650 Ecoboosts is that Ford improved the exhaust significantly vs S550. Both in tone (lower, gruntier) and according to some experts it's more of a "performance exhaust" setup from the factory.Seems like I'm always stealing a thread, but I'm reminded....
I forgot to put up my trash can yesterday (the truck came after 7:30 pm!). As my Eco-Boost was idling in my driveway, I walked behind the car to get the trash can. Cheese Whiz Batman, the damn thing is noisy! Maybe I should have ordered the exhaust upgrade!
I tried it out and just started it and it did start in quiet mode. I guess it shows normal until I actually start the car then switched instantaneously. I never looked before because I wasn't as concerned as now with the headers. So I guess there was no issue it just doesn't show quiet mode until car starts. Thanks everyone and sorry if I wasted anyone's time. Your input is appreciatedOne change I do like about the S650 Ecoboosts is that Ford improved the exhaust significantly vs S550. As far as quiet starts, I dont' think you can start with valves fully closed due to something about the catalytic converters, so that's probably why people are finding it's loud for a little bit before it switches into "quiet mode".
I believe it takes something like around 45 Seconds?I think it actually starts in normal mode and then switches to quiet mode in a few seconds.
