I went with the Dark Horse Premium as this was/is my first ever sports car (yes I know some claim the mustang to be a muscle car). I personally like the look of the DH front end over the GT, but to each their own.

I definitely went with the Manual as it's the only way to go if you want to be engaged when driving. Harder to steal too as most people this day and age would be completely lost trying to figure out the 3rd pedal if they were trying to steal it... At least that's my opinion.

The Tremec is very nice! Did you get the HP?

And yes anymore they are either/or Muscle or Sports. I would call Mustang and Camaro sports and Challenger muscle - but all 3 with nasty V8s, RWD and manuals - so who cares!

It's definitely a muscle car, but has sports car styling. It's way too large and heavy to be a sports car. GR 86s will beat them at the track. And a certain BMW will rip them in a dig, and even roll. Power and handling are out of balance. They're a better raw power vehicle. But those little sports cars are too small for me.

No I didn't get the handling package, don't ever plan on tracking it as that's a young man's game.

Some people have an income that we can not comprehend....to them buying a million dollar supercar is like one of us buying a Mustang GT 301A ......around here I see wives daily driving those 300K Lamborghini SUVs and G Wagons all the time...

I have supercar friends and have hung out with their supercar clubs- most are super nice guys (but there are some douchbag supercar clubs too) - but....this was a real conversation a guy was having with me- he had ordered two Ferraris and was complaining that one of them was coming earlier then expected so now coming in the same month- and he was bitching over which one to take because he didnt have the extra cash to pay for 2 700K cars in the same 6 month period and couldnt decide which one to keep - he was hoping they would come a year apart... so he was asking me which one I would take - he seemed genuinely interested in my opinion ended up talking with him for an hour about kids marriage life exc.... funny because so many similarities....but so many differences lol
Oh, you're not wrong...there is zero shortage of "1st world problems" lol.

And it beat both a GT Mustang and Dark Horse. Until they did a 45 mph roll. The Shelby left both in the dust. But it's hard to believe the M3 is heavier, and I believe has less HP. But what do I know. I don't know much about these new fangled cars. Was pretty sad when I read in college a four banger Lotus beat a V8 Corvette in the early 80s.

I decided to do the same. I actually put a video up on about the same topic. I ordered a dark horse without the Dark horse price. I ordered my PP with all the bells and whistles and it still was less that the DH. I got the 401A premium package with the performance pack, magnaride with Blue calipers and upgraded the automatic transmission with 3:55 rear gears. I also added the active exhaust which gives me a bit more Hp over the base model, and I opt for the Recaro seats. I tell you it feels just like it. Especially with the upgraded gears. Except for the extra 10Hp the Dark horse has over my PP. I don’t think it’s worth an extra 10-20K for 10-11 HP more. I added the RTR side skirts and the Gurney flap to my rear spoiler and it looks like the DH. I always have people coming to me saying they love my DH and when I tell them it’s not they are surprised.
Go with the PP and build it like you wish like I did. Check out my video on YouTube and see for yourself. Hope this helps.

M3 has more HP and more weight and is faster than a Mustang.

But this sir was not the topic. It was about how you came to the conclusion that the Mustang is a, muscle car, because of it's weight.

If you wanna talk about weight don’t forget those lucid airs (excellent name for a car btw)

Let's see. How did I come to the conclusion Mustangs are Muscle Cars. Okay, Bubba. American Car Manufacturers made Muscle Cars, and Eurotrash Car Manufacturers make Sissified Sports Cars. So if the Mustang is a Pee Wee Herman sports car, then it should be let to die like Camaro and others that have died out during the sands of time. Maybe I should sell my Mustang and sink the money into a real car like the effing 69 Nova with a 427 small block to purchase my Mustang. America is Muscle Car Territory. No room for puny Sports Cars. Sheesh! This group is ridiculous.

People can pigeonhole the Mustang or any other car for that matter any way they want and I don’t care. But for me, it never made sense to call the Mustang either a sports car or a muscle car. Given that pretty much from it‘s inception it could be configured in so many different ways (just like the Camaro a few years later) it could compete in different market segments. While it could be fitted with a big engine and hang with the true muscle cars, I never thought it could be slimmed down enough to be a real sports car. Sporty for sure but that’s a different thing.

If you gotta put the Mustang in a slot, I always thought “Pony Car” made the most sense. After all, it did create the genre!

If you buy 60's and 70' Mustang, then you were right.

But let's see.. we live 50 years in the future now where a lot of things changed, including our cars.

The Mustang as we know it right now is not a muscle car anymore. Some people call it a pony car, some people a sports car and some say in between. Nobody knows exactly what category it really is because with all the technology and changes, high performance cars are overlapping their characteristics.

I disagree. Yesterday's mustangs were piece of junk glorified Pintos with teeny tiny 289 V8s. Not all that great until one was had in 390 c.i. . I'm actually going to sell mine, and get a Chevy Nova, 350 c.i. HP, 4-spd, etc. Should've never bought a lowly pecker wood trailer park car, which is now a car of the Culturally ex-Trailer Park people who bumped into a little money and now pimp a mustang. Only one reason I bought a mustang, for modernity. So back to real cars. Ford can Keep their fancy glorified Pintos. I don't need creature comforts and a computer car. A real car and laptop is enough for me. Plus my P239 when things go South.
