Yeah, Ford has always had this tendency to "cheap out". That's what separates them from premium brands like BMW or Mercedes or Lexus. That's fine if they are selling for 1/2 to 2/3rd the price, but with Mustangs pushing $60k in top line trim (and GT500s at twice that), that is no longer the case. The design choices made for the "entry level" models impact the whole line up. An entry level BMW has a more premium look and feel than a top line Ford.

This goes right to the "quality is problem #1" issue at Ford. Quality is not just about reliability, it also is about designing in the look and feel of a high quality premium product right from day one. Something Ford just does not seem to understand.

Here are the pictures of the base model interiors they actually look pretty good to me I think I prefer the screens being separated. Notice how the parking brake is now an e-brake button instead of the e-brake handle on the performance packs.

Here is the 2024 KIA EV9's dash. It even has manual volume control and touch controls on the dash, itself. The A/C ducts are hidden. The steering wheel s barely over IP. This interior has style.
