Exactly. This is just a quick screenshot from Assetto Corsa, but it shows perfectly how the reflection and the edge already darkens the trunklid very nice. You don't need to paint it darkerAgreed. The whole point of the blackout panel on past Mustangs was to break up visual mass. They all had relatively flat surfacing around the trunk and large taillights to match. Made sense.
The S650 has shorter taillights and a hiked up diffuser so that mass is already shrunken and perked up. On top of that, the massive cut line breaks up the trunk lid itself. Still think this translates in person much more easily than photos when light, shadow, and reflection play around these angles.
