Oh wow that's horrible. I know things happen but I'm a little worried as I have a GT on order myself. I see the OP of this thread had to have this long block replaced to the tune of $11k. Hoping that everything works out for you and crossing my fingers I get a good build.UPDATE: Took my car to another dealership last week, they did the troubleshooting like they were supposed to do and found No. 1 cylinder bad, leaking oil from valves. Said it looks "terrible ". Ford has authorized a head or engine change. They want the head pulled first. I don't want this. The dealership said that one other GT somewhere has the same problem. I have requested a buy back again. I have had it with this car!
I did have the motor replaced and I've not had any issues since. Cost me zero but cost Ford an $11k motorOh wow that's horrible. What are you going to buy to replace it?Update: surrendered my car today, Ford gave me ALL my money back. The nightmare is over!
I did end up getting rid of mine as well. My dealer told me there are lots of issues with these cars. From electrical gremlins to motor issues (mine had both). I may try again in a year or so once the issues are resolved in the updated platform.Update: surrendered my car today, Ford gave me ALL my money back. The nightmare is over!
its the 6.4L HemiIs that the SRT with the 6.4L or just the 5.7L Hemi?
Either way, nice looking ride.
supposedly the initial delays on the GT model was for this exact issue. GT Mustangs went back in status from built to in production to get repaired. mine showed as having an issue on left bank and went back in for repairs before being shipped. Why you would fix only one side and not both baffles me.Seen several 2024's puffing blue smoke on youtube exhaust clip videos.
When mine started smoking it was both sidesMaybe only one side has the problem?
Ford is asking a very limited number of owners to swap out the left side cylinder head... related???
