I’ve done a little searching around the interwebs and can’t find what I am looking for. Curious if there is a benefit when adding performance mods to the car such as exhaust, whipple, etc. to clear the adaptive transmissions tables. I have FORscan and can do it, just curious if there Is a benefit. Also I noticed on a F-150 Tremor forum that there is an official process other than just clear and drive it. Has anyone seen this on the S650? Could someone from a dealer post the process if it is listed?

When I had my S550 and it was supercharged by Roush the shift points were very violent, at anything other than WOT, when shifting from 1-3 and from 3-4 in TRACK mode. They were slightly better in SPORT mode but still pretty terrible.

Long story short, turns out it was the Roush tune for shifting and they had no plans for a new revision coming out for my particular vehicle. I went to an aftermarket tuner who adjusted the shift points for me.

If I remember correctly, each drive mode has a number associated to the pressure used to make the shift. From 0 to 3. 0 being baby soft, 3 being a viking invasion.

So you have things like

STICK IN DRIVE / MODE NORMAL = 1
STICK IN DRIVE / MODE SPORT = 2
STICK IN DRIVE / MODE TRACK = 3

@engineermike could probably give you a huge breakdown on it as he helped me out over on Mustang6G

@MCS , thanks for the reply.

I’ve just started doing some performance mods. Started with exhaust. Obviously nothing ground breaking. I’m “perceiving” a different torque curve even under 50% acceleration. Just has my brain turning thinking about how was the car driven the for the 41 miles before I got it. 15k now. Did this 41 miles set the adaptive tables? Then the small exhaust change I made, would it benefit from something like this? I don’t know enough about the tables and is it a one time learning based on the way it was driven or is it a continuously learning system.
