"amazing handling suspension" i did NOT say "pp suspension".
amazing handling suspension is not harsh. If it is, the purveyor of said suspension SUCKS at their job.
you can call it rubbish, it just makes you wrong
There are MANY on M6G that credibly assert PP1 suspension is complete crap. If you don't know that PP1 suspension is crap, you clearly are not competent to evaluate suspension. I have had multiple PP1 cars, both GT and Eco. The suspension is total crap and should never have even been brought to market, let alone passed off by Ford as an improvement over the likewise sh*t-show that is stock.

And while I'm offending your sensibilities, the Magneride as delivered on the PP1 is only somewhat worth the coin - and abosolutely requires one to FIX all the chassis/IRS problems for it to shine. The Mach1/GT350R setup is somewhat improved. But compared to what GM does with the technology, Ford delivers "meh".

This is a pretty good breakdown of my current ride. For contrast and comparisons sake:

https://www.supercars.net/blog/2004-cadillac-cts-v/
Not sure why you're not looking at a Blackwing (no NA v8 being the problem, I guess. I agree, the 5V should have come NA or Supercharged). The GT you selected is several steps backwards from your current caddy. You really need to buy the Dark Horse trim to get a car on par or better than the CTS.

Go rent a current S550 GT 6MT and drive it around for a few days. Are you really going to be happy with your choice? Because that's what you're buying.

glad to see you hopped off daddy GM's lap long enough to completely miss that i made a separation between the pp suspension and good handling suspension, but you keep going there buddy.

Also no shit Magneride is going to be better on GM vehicles it was their technology to begin with. theyve had the last 20 years to perfect their systems, Fords only had it for the past 8 and on non shelby mustangs for the past 5.

I cross shopped blackwings, M2, and 718 Cayman. Kept coming back to the mustang's n/a v8. And that sound. To me perfect. Once I learned I could go grabber blue with a black roof straight from the factory.....sold. Remain hopeful that a GT Premium with Performance Package gets me many of the driving dynamics I like about my CTS-V without a full step up to the Dark Horse.

I would love to hear from folks with more technical knowledge then myself how things differ. My 2004 CTS-V manual transmission is bone stock. Stearing is tight. Corners are flat. Low end pull is fun. Exhaust note is good but too quiet. Tremec is robust, but I would not call it buttery. It takes a long strong throw.

Coyote 5.0 vs LS6 5.7
Getrag vs. Tremec
Both with 3.73 limited slip differentials.

That's the base stuff I know. I don't have enough technical/mechanical knowledge to understand the differences in say stearing and suspension systems but would love to be educated.

save the money because the Ford rollbars/dampers are useless.

Put the braces on separate, stop-the-hop kit and IRS fixes, a BMR/Eibach front bar, FP Track damper set or Bilstein, set of camber plates (you want handling, you REQ those), and BMR SP083 front spring set and the PP1 rear lateral links (dirt cheap from FP/Steeda etc) and you've got all the really needed pieces.

3.55 rear diff is no slouch. The 3.73 is pretty short - I waffle between it makes the MT82-D4 trans tolerable, to being too short. I keep my motor on the boil >2300 RPM all the time and basically never use 6th gear - just leave it in 4th or 5th unless I'm pushing >75mph. If you drive around never breaching 2500 RPM you've got a screw loose IMO - go drive a diesel OTR. I spin the 6.4l Mopar north of 2K at all times as well.

If you want 1st/2nd crazy pulls you'll be putting in a 4.09 gearset anyway and then you can slap the Torsen in there.

My biggest gripe is that you only get a Tremec if you step up to the Dark Horse. If the MT82 is so good then why don't they use it in the Dark Horse, GT350 or Mach 1? Because its not.

https://www.moderndriveline.com/why...3160-manual-transmission-for-the-2021-mach-1/

So for me, I am at Dark Horse Premium or nothing. Now, for $65k-$70k you are at CT4V-Blackwing pricing, which is what I am driving now. It comes with a Tremec, Mag-ride 4.0, 6 piston Brembos, E-Diff, dual mode exhaust, Michelin PS4S tires, etc. and you can load it up with all the other goodies such as sport bucket seats with heating/cooling/massage, PDR, HUD, and so on. It handles incredible and the twin turbo LF4 pulls hard with 472hp, 445tq. Some tuners have over 700whp on them now if you want to go crazy.

The main benefit of the Mustang is the V8 exhaust note, but when paired to the MT82 I lose interest. No auto for me the the fun car, otherwise I would just drive the Tesla.

Listen, the CT-4V Blacking is an awesome car but it's no Mustang. If you are in the market for a four door sedan with a turbo 6 engine that's a great choice. But if you want a two door coupe with an awesome V8, well you know.

But you are certainly right about the pricing though. MSRP for a CT-4V Blackwing is now $62,390 with zero options. A Dark Horse premium is $63,460. It really just depends on what you want.

Agreed, you just have to decide what itch you want to scratch. I am coming from a C7 Gransport and ZL1 but wanted to try something new. The Blackwing strikes a good balance of fun to drive and being easier to live with on a daily basis.

Thanks all for feedback. After consideration I’m going against my simple systems ethos and throwing all the the ford factory has to offer at my GT. Will see how it goes and mod if needed. I expect maybe a different type of fun/satisfaction from my CTS-V, but fun nonetheless. Final order:

GT Premium Coupe
Manual
Grabber Blue
401A
Nite Pony
Performance Pack
Active Exhaust
Magnaride
