I added some more useful information to the write up! Be sure to relocate your factory DSP to the position depicted below.

Thats hilarious.
What's the mounting area for that? I wonder if I can make a decent amp fit in the factory location... /hm

I ended up making a wood mount for my amp and the factory mount :) I cut the carpet in the trunk to give it an access "window"
I have 2 3-channel passive crossovers wired in now and sitting on the carpet next to the amp. thinking i will maybe rewire the things, but I will likely tuck the crossovers in with the Pac interface that i have behind the carpet. Stealth look is what i was going for, as i also use my trunk.

I did NOT upgrade my speakers, but I did run the tweeter cables from the ACM to the crossovers. even with stock speakers, the sound is SO MUCH better. highs are still harsh as hell, but boosting the low and mids actually gets the doors rocking.

I would 100% upgrade those speakers. They are low RMS and may blow if overpowered. That could damage your amp

Speakers will be next on my list. Trying to find something that matches my sound tastes is difficult. I like the ones you used for the midrange fronts, so i might go that route.

I had a Sundown SML-10 put in the OEM enclosure. The entire inside of the enclosure was sound deadened. Running off the factory amp, it's about 1% better than OEM. Thus...

It needs an aftermarket amp badly.

Guess I will be buying a PAC unit.

Dude that OEM DSP puts like 900W to the whole system. I can imagine the sub gets 100W & all other speakers get the other 800W. My car sounds insanely loud with the 2 4 channels & 2 2 channels.

I personally like the stock B&O what Ford built in. It is enough for a great drive with a nice accustic in the cabin. At a certain point you won't hear much difference anyway imo.

The PAC unit made this a piece of cake really. Aside from pulling the center dash apart to access the tweeter harness and running the wires back, everything is right there is the driver's corner in the trunk.
I updated the other thread in the INfotainment section, but the AC 1200 watt amp is PLENTY for the cabin speakers, and i only have a 500 watt RMS amp pushing a single 12. it sounds VERY good compared to the stock amp/dsp even with stock speakers. On to the task of finding the speakers i want now lol

I ended up changing my setup completely. I’m running an 800x2 on the door speakers and two 440x4’s for the upper mids, tweeters and deck. Got a 1600Wx2 for the sub.

Nice. The 6 Channel 1200 watt amp does exactly what i want.. I will likely add a 2 way crossover when i replace the door woofers.
My setup is basically the rear is on channel 5-6, Front lowers on channels 3-4, and the mids and highs are 1-2. Sounds great.
kicking around getting a full set of Morel Maximos
