I'm surprised to find that any Mustang owner is OK with the start/stop thing. I hate it, and always turn it off. I have the harness to disable it, but haven't installed yet.
The vast majority of Mustang owners just drive them like normal cars. They don't participate on forums like this. They don't fret over the fact that they have to "push a button" to disable AS/S ... because they don't. In fact, I doubt most of them give it a second thought.

My 2024 convertible GT premium PP/Magnaride has it but it has NOT ONCE ever turned on even in normal mode with top up and no a/c on. Did some of the cars come with faulty A/S/S?? (Not complaining tho, saves me from having to toggle it off at every start)

Isn't there a button to disable it on cars equipped with it, at your pleasure? You can also (for previous MY's) buy a harness to permanently disable it should you so wish, if your car has it.

Why does the engine shutting off make you uncomfortable? are you concerned it won't restart? It could just as easily die while driving, or when you go to start it normally. The ECU will wait until the engine sees oil pressure before firing the injectors, and the starter is beefed up to handle the additional duty cycle. Also the car is far more likely to be rendered undriveable with a botched software update with how things are going these days.

There's been advancements in the technology. It saving you maybe a dollar each fill-up, and the net fuel consumption savings across all mustangs (and cars in general) is beneficial for you and everyone else.
My 2024 GT premium 401(A)), 10 speed automatic has the stop start, but there’s a button on the bottom of the dash by the mustang emblem and the first thing I do when I get in the car, started up push the button and never shut off very simple. My car was built April 26, 2024.
I believe, turning your engine on and off and a stop light or whatever is bad for your engine. Physical oil is not consistent.

AS/S has been present in millions and millions of vehicles for a very long time. It's been proven many times over that there is no real appreciable negative (or positive!) results from AS/S being active. No, engines are not blowing up (oil continues to coat cylinder walls and other moving parts long after an engine is shut down) and, no, people are NOT replacing starters.

Having finally read the evo article in the magazine (which I've had for a month) where they drive a German market dark horse in France ... Looks like eu dark horses have the start stop feature. (My vin filtered manual suggests it has it also)
I did post about this but couldn't be bothered to find it to quote myself.

They posted the pics here and you'll see the button illuminated on the interior shot.

One more thing to add to the list of "How can we government Karens infringe upon your life" in the EU. That stinks.

Fitment of start/stop is all on Ford, there is no gov' mandate to fit it.
So Ford is adding AS/S to the DH when there is no requirement to do so? Are there no such fuel economy standards in any EU country like we have in the US (CAFE) that would explain why they are doing this? I find that hard to believe that with people in the UK being so gung ho on climate change that they fake the data to support their agenda.

Same. Every time I’ve met someone who has that feature, they always talk about how they always turn it off. From various cars as well.

There is a tax on first purchase / registration based upon emissions (fuel economy)
Which is split into bands.
The mustang is in the top (most expensive) band and it's not even close to meeting the next level with or without start/ stop etc.

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables

Between 2001 and 2017 the annual vehicle tax (vehicle excise duty) were based upon a version of these bands. This encouraged the use of diesel vehicles which has since been frowned upon.

When mercedes facelifted my car they went from a 7 to 9 speed gearbox, this dropped emissions from 132g to 114 dropping it 2 bands.
Damn glad I live here in the US (and for more than just this reason). If it makes NO difference when it comes to Ford's bottom line (like CAFE does here), then I still don't understand why the would incur the extra expense to include it. They are basically throwing money out the door.
