Just wondering if anyone got a pic of their car being built.

This is my first experience having a car built for me at factory so wanted to see if there was a way to achieve this?

I don't think that's a thing with Mustangs... Unless you have a friend on the assembly line...

With the cost of the dark horse it would be a great little “hey. This is for you” kinda thing lol

I always thought it'd be cool to include something like that with a welcome or owner kit. Otherwise, ya, unless it's a random photo someone posted on-line (at the risk of receiving whatever consequences that might bring) a photo/history link is not in the cards. :crying:

Something you can get: the build sheet. Ask for it before the car arrives at the dealer. The build sheet is tossed inside when the car leaves the line. The dealer throws it out, along with seat bags and other things, as part of the prep.

When tours of the assembly line back in the day cameras were not allowed. You could take the tour of the steel plant also. It was so interesting I did it all twice.

Not sure I could get away to take the tour. I’m probably 4.5 hours away by car.

I suppose I’ve seen too many movies lol I wanted to have that “birth of baby” shot for the album.

my S550 I had pics of it on the dealership floor that was 2000km away. Then getting offloaded from the covered transport and all throughout my build process. I’ll probably grab a pic on the day she drives off with another owner.

They put a little sticker on the windshield that says it was made at Flat Rock. I thought that was kind of cool (though I've seen others don't like it).

Plus one! I like the UAW/plant decals. Puts a little personal touch on it IMO.

I did this for my 2015 F150. I caught it coming out of the paint shop. At DTP, they split the cab from the bed right there, and they go two different ways. I followed the cab all the way through trim, chassis, and final. During that time, the bed met back up with the cab. I was able to get about three dozen pictures and a half dozen videos. It was pretty cool.

When I sold the truck, I put all those pictures and videos on a DVD, and stuck it inside the owner's manual with a note for the (future) owner. I don't know if they appreciated it as much as some would have, but I'd like to think they did. :)

Had I been patient and ordered my DH, I likely could have done the same thing for it. :)

Back in the day when you had to be a salaried employee to get A plan, I can't remember for sure either pay grade 7 or 8, you could walk your car down the line as it was being built.
