Yeah it wasn't a ton of material that had to be removed, but I took a bit off, test fit, rinse and repeat a hundred times to make it right.That was my only thought on trimming, I wasn't sure how much material would have to be taken off and if it would be at risk of breaking, although there are so many points its mounted to its probably fine.
Speaking of adjustments, did you have any issues tightening the christmas tree clips by the headlights, where the bumper mounts to side fender? Mine has a small gap that I couldn't fully tighten, and I'd give it another look If you havent.
I did look at the area you're speaking of and didn't have hard time with that. The 10mm bolts pulled it nice and tight. I have a whole bag of new clips if I need to replace the ones that are there. I will be pulling the bumper again this weekend to do some final adjustments, so likely have to replace them at that time.
