I’m hoping that the competition starts bringing back the V8s. Competition is a great thing for the end consumer because you’ll see more options, more power, and maybe even competitive pricing! That being said, I don’t see Ford doing a redesign anytime soon when it has literally zero competition….

Remember when BlackBerry was the only smartphone option in town? Then came along the iPhone and a slew of Android phones? Phones became WAY better and cheaper simultaneously and rapidly so.

I would say 2028 for partial-refresh and 2032 for another new design. 5.0 with 520HP for the GT?

Thanks for all the information, yeah hard to say what Ford has planned, my guess is 2027 a refresh probably
I literally just told you that Ford is currently saying 2029.

But, hey, what do they know?

Hm, would you know if it were a refresh vs a new gen?

I ask because when the s650 first released, rumors were it would run until 2030 model year 🤔

New gen was supposed to be electric 2032 was the target iirc, maybe it gets pushed back a bit but unsure.

In corporates mind EV is out selling ICE, and it’s the very start of the adoption curve.

Because the conversations involved anticipated refresh, not next generation.

You're welcome to ignore anything I say. What do I know ... all we did/do was built part of your Mustang.

Thanks for keeping an eye and ear close to the S650 scheduling. Potentially 2029 for a refresh means potentially a lot more time for me to save up and keep observing what happens with Ford and the rest of the automobile manufacturers out there.

If the refresh is in 2029 that would mean Ford wants this gen to go longer than the s550.

I can only speak for Europe.

We got the S550 PFL around 2015 and the facelift of the S550 came 2019, so that's 4 years. I do not expect any facelift or major updates until at least 2028. For you guys maybe 2027 because you launched the S650 1 year prior to us.

I think until we see a major facelift, we might get:

- a Mach 4 version which is presumed to be the 4 door Mustang. That for sure could be interesting and entering a new segment like the Porsche Panamera, Audi A7 or Mercedes GT 4 door.

- new exterior colors, optional interior materials, new rims etc.

Are they? Who in their right mind would want to buy a Tesla right now, and given the expense of other EVs, I don't see those flying off the lots either. I haven't looked at sales figures, but I am willing to bet that ICE is outselling EV by a large margin right now.

I can only share what I've heard.

As we all know, these things can change on a dime. Ford extended the next gen F150 and Super Duty twice since we started producing for the current generation platforms (P702 and P708).

My thoughts exactly. Who knows how accurate the rumors of the next gen arriving in 2030 are, but those were floating out there. My guess is the next gen mustang is in the advanced design studio as we speak considering it takes about 5 years to do a new generation.

If there is going to be a refresh, I would guess model year 27 or 28 since rumors are a newly redesigned mustang in 2030. There may not even be a refresh.
Ford probably has the Refresh Prototype Mustang already Hiding somewhere.
I was once up at Kite Lake, about Timber Line. Over 11,500 ft..in the Colorado High Country.
I had a 2012 FX 4 F150.
There was a gentleman there with a Ford F150, Michigan license plates.
We were talking & he asked me how I like my truck. I said I love it. He said he help design the grill. He said we have over 100 grills to choose from. This was in 2012. You know Ford already has Mustangs Prototype types Planned and probably built.
They probably have several designs in the works..
If Ford reads this message. They need to come out with Mustang's in brighter colors..
How about Poppy Red from the 60s?

if we look at the S550, 2027/28
if we look at the S197 (more likely imo) 2029/2030
i say more likely because of the socioeconomic situation of the S197 period more closely matches today

IMO this would make the most sense simply because they could (and probably would) combine any refresh/redesign with the introduction of the hybrid platform. Why go to the expense to do a straight ICE refresh only to have to do the inevitable hybrid thing a couple years later?
