Hi everyone, does anyone have experience with exhaust heat wraps on long tube headers? Are they even feasible to install? Is there enough room for this on a 2024 Ford Mustang GT? I haven’t seen much information about it for this car, but I know it works well on Harley-Davidsons with exposed exhaust systems—it significantly reduces the temperature.

I’m considering using heat wraps on my long tube headers to protect my starter, air conditioning system, and hoses. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I’m pretty sure you can just get them jet coated if you want, wrapping isn’t really a thing anymore

Yes.

How much do you love the smell of burning oil? If you really love that smell, go forth and wrap your headers. It won’t be day one, or the first week, but sooner or later you will spill oil on one or both headers, now wrapped. now your car will burn that oil off seemingly forever.

I’ve done this on a big block car and a bike. I won’t do it again.

Although unless you wanna coat the whole thing you could wrap from the resonator back for kicks.

I agree Jet coating is the way to go and it brings down the temps of 500-600 down to high 200-300! As I’ve been hearing others say racing cars uses this to their advantages!

No need for header wrap or coating on a quality T304 stainless header. I've ran headers with no wrap or coating on them on many of my cars and trucks over the years with zero issues. Cars that make well north of 1000rwhp and have gone 8's. Personally I just don't think it's needed or necessary.

I’d rather jet hot the headers than install an h.
