So a few weeks ago I tried track driving again, this time at Dream Racing in Vegas. This time I took Dramamine an hour before the experience and it went much better than two years ago at Speed Vegas. I certainly didn't set any new lap records, but I enjoyed driving cars I'll very likely never afford in my lifetime the way they were meant to be driven.
Hot car take though, I think I prefer test driving cars in daily driving circumstances over driving cars fast on a track.
For the track driving I did, I felt like I was so focused on listening and following the instructors directions that I didn't really have time to fully soak in and enjoy the cars I drove. Now, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with how the Huracan Performante felt taking turns and the C8 Z06 didn't sound absolutely awesome, especially going full throttle down the big straight. But if I'm looking at the whole picture, this isn't something I could see myself doing on a fairly regular basis with, say, my EcoBoost or a future GT. Maybe every few years or so to experience the benchmarks of car performance, but not more frequent than that.
Until next time, I'll be enjoying fast cars in Forza/Gran Turismo and the like. Thanks for reading!
