i dunno if i mentioned it, but Ford is cutting costs elsewhere too. Raptors (F-150, Bronco, Ranger) no longer have unique keyfobs, stuff like that. there are no US Ford vehicles except the Mach-E that come with a built-in door code, its now sent to us dealers as accessories that we have to install

Ford lost 5.1 Billion dollars on their EV vehicles in 2024 and are expected to lose another 5 billion in 2025, how did you expect them to make up for that large of a loss and that large of a projected loss 🤷

In 2024, Ford Motor Company reported a net income of $5.9 billion, a 37% increase from the previous year. However, within its electric vehicle (EV) segment, Ford Model e incurred a loss of $5.1 billion due to significant investments in future products.

Overall, Ford's total revenue for 2024 reached $185 billion, marking the highest revenue year in the company's history. Therefore, Ford did not lose $5 billion in 2024; instead, it achieved a net profit of $5.9 billion, with the EV segment experiencing a $5.1 billion loss as part of its strategic investments.

Door codes are dying because no body wants them. They were replaced by Ford Pass which allows you to lock and unlock remotely. I wish it was a better app, but it is the direction of the future. Spares have been disappearing for well over a decade. My 2013 was rare in that it had one. If you had anything but the base tire sizes, you got the inflation kit.

Unfortunately active not passive. Door code is passive-more ways than one, but however, far more convenient, especially the hidden version.

If revenue was 185 billion and their net profit was 5.9 billion did they have a cost/loss of 179.1 billion with ev being 5.1 billion of it?

If you calculate the percentage of all costs, the EV loss is just a small percentage of their total gains and losses.

I don't see why everyone is so upset. I mean look at that craftsmanship? I paid 92k CAD for my Dark Horse and I can only WISH I had gotten something with this level quality.

That sucks I got the nice black pouch that has a velcro flap to close it. early build so I guess that's why I got mine.
