I was told today by the local dealership service department that Stop/start Recall, for the BCM reprogramming, has been stopped as of 10th of October.
I have a car with the system but it has been inoperative since I drive off the lot.
I don't care if it works but Ford kept sending me notices to get fixed.
Well, I made an appointment on a couple of days ago and they called today.
Maybe the reprogramming is causing other issues. I guess I should not get anymore recall notices. That's a plus.

they had to stop it, under Federal law they can't sell any car with an open recall, so they had cars sitting there they could not sell

I dont think you understand. Ford has stopped the recall for Mustangs that have the system but do not function. Mine shows ready but it does not shut the engine off when all the conditions are met. It has nothing to do with selling cars. It is a hour download. I'm not buying a car. I kept getting recall notices so a made an appointment online and this morning I get a call from the service department. They said Ford put a stop to the recall on 10 Oct. 2024.
I am OK with it but it is strange.

No, I don't think you understand... the recall affects not just your car, but many more ... some still on the lot. Dealers cannot sell them with unrepaired recalls Since there is currently no fix, they can't sell them until there is... or if Ford cancels the recall. It was not canceled for the convenience of customers... it's all about selling the cars on the lot.

I sorry, I dont get your logic. BUT it's ok. I saved $1000 for a system that is inoperative and I did not want and still don't want. That I understand. I am just curious as to why they stopped the recall. It's been in effect for 6 months.
Enough said. I'm good with no recall.

Maybe a future update will fix the problem. 🧐

Makes me wonder what excuse Stellantis will come up with to sell some 400+ days of inventory? They'd jump on a recall faster than a chicken on a June bug! If they could!

My 2024 GT Premium has the stop start system.
When I start the car up. I just push the button and turn it off.
If I forget to turn it off and I’ll come to a stoplight and the engine stops. Just take your foot off the break , put your foot back on the break. The engine will come on and stay on. It’s not that big a deal.
My built date was April 26, 2024.
Mustang was ordered on February 19, 2024
Purchased on May 17, 2024.
This may help the owners whose Mustang Stop Start does not function or is under recall.
Personally, I always turn it off.
It seems to be very annoying!

I'm so glad my Dark horse does not come with that option.

Hyde,
I'm with you. The system has a glitch. It's the best of both worlds. We got the $1000 off MSRP and dont have to turn it off everytime. I'm glad Ford stopped the recall. Just let it be.

Fingers crossed that they never get this system operational on my vehicle.

Why don't you want OTA updates, besides the stop/start update. Just wondering.
