Based on what I’ve seen on a couple forum, that account is more of a social media account. They say they will look into issues for people, but all they do is call the dealer you give them and tell that dealer to call you. Maybe they put data into a database, but who knows.
You are probably right.

No disrespect to Ford, but I'd expect them to continue to be silent.

Any TSB-like or recall decisions will be made by corporate, after they've studied the problem and come up with a solution. To even say, "We're on it!", implies they've accepted there's a fault and are committed to fixing it ($$$). It would be a faux pas for someone monitoring a forum to publicly comment at all, on anything. :lipssealed:

In addition to posting comments, pictures and videos here, I'd consider what's also been talked of: discuss directly with your Dealer. If possible, call or open a case with Ford. Send a personal, physical letter to someone or people in Ford Corporate (they do read them).

https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2022/06/24/ford-recalls-warranty-costs/7708704001/

The article referenced is 18 months old. Warranty repair costs to Ford at the time? $5B.

Ford does need to do something. I've never measured it, but certain times of the year, I come home with so much ice attached to the truck, it stays outside. I kick or bash huge chunks off the vehicle panels and underside.

These access ports, "speed holes", whatever we'd like to call them, are going to hold a rather large volume of rocks, sand, salty water and ice, along the rocker panel area.

Some of you may call it something else, but I redneck engineered a cover out of an old license plate. Going to add flex seal tape to seal and color it black.

Shape it like a ‘v’ at the bottom pocket, maybe simulate the perceived intent.

We still don’t know if the holes are functional? Really wish Ford would say something so I can know how to proceed.
Totally agree.

Finally have a kit available.

https://diyvan.com/products/2024-ford-mustang-fender-liner-hole-cover-panels-kit

Spent lots of hours tweaking 3D CAD model and running test parts to optimize the fit. Parts are printed on our in-house MarkForged industial quality 3D printer using their Onyx micro carbon fiber filled nylon . Print time for RH and LH parts is about 6 hours.

Do also admire all the innovative DIY solutions posted in this thread. And a big thank you to Tony for making us aware of this issue.

All the best,
Hein

Would double stick adhesive along the outter edge fail over time or would the trade off be worth the assumed ease of installation?

in the install video they use JB Weld, assuming thats the method they supply, it will hold true, probably longer than the plastic cover itself honestly. I have a water spicket sealed in place with JB and its as solid as the day i did it 3 years ago.

Completely understood, jb gonna hold no doubt. Wasn’t sure if peel and stick would make it easier for install or not.

i misunderstood what you said, my bad.

the way he installs it on the video looks like peel and stick would be more difficult due to the way it tucks behind the OEM garnish piece. I also feel like peel and stick wouldn't hold the test of time in the elements. Not sure if the creator ruled it out as an option fully or not.

Np, 👍🏻

that’s why I wasn’t sure if the bulk of the peel and stick and the weather potential for fail would be worth the ease of not working with ‘gunk’ (no offense meant just asking about minor points to see if possibly smoother and or easier / less effort may work or if it’s already been ruled out).

Not bad, after the install I would drill couple holes and rivet them in for good!
