Well, from the looks of it - it's a rush, rush, to market POS - like the overpriced shitty K&N unit. About the only thing that looks like it took some thought is the two aluminum units that connect to the filters they at least look like they needed to be machined by Chinese milling machines. šŸ¤£ The two air tubes with STEEDA billboards all over them are cheap silicone tubes machine cut from 100 foot lengths by Chinese cutters. People are yapping about the rubber air tube Whipple supplies with their kit - this is just as bad. I can see those tubes bubbling, warping, cracking over time from the heat... - I'll pass and wait for something better thought out and they want +$600 smackers for this POS that probably cost them $150 to manufacture if that.

No rush - if it were a rush, we would have launched something in the first 2-weeks of the S650 launch. Appreciate your support & feedback.

Thereā€™s nothing more to discussā€”if you donā€™t see the value, then it's simple: don't buy it. I look forward to seeing you develop and offer a solution to the Mustang community.

Meanwhile, weā€™ve already secured a solid customer base and plenty of orders - were happy with the results.

Best,

You mean like the Busmaster M4 I used in Afghanistan, or the Colt M4 I was used in Iraq (Or any of the M249s, or M240s I was issued for that matter)? šŸ˜‰ They all had plastic forearms, not metal.

Of course they gott hot under sustained fire, but not like a metal forearm would; which is why virtually no modern military long arms (despite Rob's unsupported claim plenty of hang guards are made of metal) use any type of metal for them. And, why metal is preferred over plastic for fry pans, cooking pots, and beverage cans. Not too mention radiator fins, oil cooler fins, and inter cooler fins (like the inter cooler on my RS). Metals simply are betterat absorbing, shedding, and especially "sharing" heat and cold.

And, despite Rob's non sequitur of intake air not being in the intake tube for long; it's just basic physics that air going through any intake tube that is hotter than an intake tube made of a different material; that air will absorb more heat. QED.

"Intake tubes are made of plastic... because you can shape them however you want, unlike metal." šŸ¤£ Let me repeat. Stop!
So much is wrong with this post. You're obviously not a gun guy, so let me set you straight for a few.

First off most branches of the US have M4s and M16s with KAC or P&S quad rails on them, which are aluminum. They have rail covers that mostly serve to protect your hand from the cheese grater texture, but the point stands they're metal rails. The marines just switched to the HK M27 as their standard service rifle which uses an aluminum quad rail. The Army just switched to the Sig Spear which uses an aluminum MLok rail.

Not to mention SOCOM uses SCARs, Sig MCX rifles, and M4s with Daniel Defense RIS2s or G$ URGI rails which are all aluminum. Also they heavily use the HK 416 which the M27 is based off of, which again, has an aluminum rail.

Aside from bullpups most modern weapons militaries are using like variants of the M4, CZ Bren 2, SCAR, Sig MCX, etc, all have aluminum rails/handguards.

But the point about heat retention is easily provable, the metal generally does retain heat for a longer period than poly equivalents. Any polymer frame handgun can illustrate this with about 50-75 rounds of aimed, but relatively fast fire. The metal takedown lever is going to be noticeably hotter than the surrounding frame and it will stay hotter for longer.

But how much hotter is a bullet coming out of a cold barrel vs a warm barrel?

How much warmer is a person strolling through a sauna.

People stroll slower than air goes through your intake

bottoms line is the material of the intake pipe doesn't matter

It's where you pull the air from. It's not in the pipe long enough to heat up.

otherwise why would people test with the hood open. If the air was going to heat up in your metal intake tube you might as well leave the hood closed

People with small squares in life are doomed to be pulled off them frequently. Have a good one!

Airflow increases when not idling and or while in motion
