The tremec is fantastic. However, IMO, I wouldn't want to daily it. To me it's for focused driving. I like an easier manual for a DD. I had a 2007 Honda Civic Si for a long time and that 6 speed manual was great for a DD. I understand people have different taste but driving in a big city every day, I want easier manual than the Tremec. Maybe the MT-82 is better for DD depending on the driver.
How specifically is the MT-82 an easier manual transmission to use for daily driving than the Tremec?

Unfortunately I can only offer a limited opinion because I have only experienced the MT-82 once on a short drive. I am just a person with a little bit above average driving abilities and I wanted to give you another perspective. The Tremec has a fantastic metallic feel and requires a firm push or pull to get it into gears. This engagement is what makes it feel like you are driving a car with purpose. For me, I want a transmission that allows for more lazy engagement. Not sure if that is the MT-82 or not. I just wanted to point out an aspect of the Tremec that doesn't make an attractive daily drive IMO.

We need someone with experience with both to give you their opinion.

The detents in the mt82 are rather more pronounced. The tremec function more smoothly like a well polished rifle bolt.

I don't see a useful difference wrt daily driving "ease"

Speaking from zero experience with the Tremec, haha!

MT-82 here, added the Steeda short throw shifter (non racing one), couldn't be happier with it. Reduces the slop, smooth easy shifts.

I don't daily my Dark Horse but the factory Tremec feel was better than my 2012 GT with MT82 Barton Industries kit. The Tremec after installing the MGW kit is the best feeling manual I've ever used but I don't think it'd have any impact on ease of daily driving for me.

Yeah, Scott often takes our in-house drag car to Lowes to stock up - it's quite the hauler:

This is probably a fair characterization. I’ve had them both at the same time, one in a GT and the other in a Mach 1. My non-professional observation is that the Tremec feels like a manly transmission that responds best to firm, positive input. I guess that could be reassuring or off-putting depending on your point of view.

Point of the Tremec is that it is a reliable and sturdy transmission unlike the reputation the MT82 gathered in the S550…Time will tell if Ford addressed the problems with the version they put in the S650 now as also the Tremec is a manual that has shift action that is not as precise or smooth as the best manuals you would find in a miata, civic or Porsche…Try for yourself and you know what I try to say ! Nothing bad but you haft to shift the Tremec precise and deliberately in order that the synchros engage clean or smoothly…Its probably the nature of the shift linkage because all Tremecs feel a little different depending if they are in a Camaro , Challenger or Mustang…

Not a fan of the mt82 … I would honestly get the A10 if getting a GT

That's like saying "I couldn't get the haircut i wanted so i shaved my head instead"

That is one hell of a difference here...

Even though i would have preferred getting a Tremec, I would never have opted for the A10.
Driving a manual sports car is so much more fun.

If you want an automatic, that's fine, but going automatic because the MT82 "had" (past tense) issues, is a bit simple...

Found this table comparing the Getrag/Tremec 3160. Interesting and demonstrates what you are saying.
TRANSMISSION Standard 6-speed manual with revmatching and no-lift-shift N/A Getrag MT-82 Tremec TR-3160 Gear ratios: 1st - 3.237:1 3.25:1 2nd - 2.104:1 2.23:1 3rd - 1.422:1 1.61:1 4th - 1.000:1 1.24:1 5th - 0.814:1 1.00:1 6th - 0.622:1 0.63:1
Significant difference in some gears especially 3rd and 4th.
The Getrag MT82D4 got the kinks worked out of it back in mid 2019

Do you have the time frame in 2019 this was fixed. i have a 2019

Honestly, if you don't track or race and use the car for a daily driver and an occasional sprint of power, get the GT. I have the Premium GT with the A-10 Auto, and the Brembo Brake Package. It's a great car to drive and have fun with any day of the week. Maybe the extra cost 3:55 rear axle would have been nice, but I would need to drive one to see if there is really a difference in performance. My GT rides well, is quiet or loud if you want it. A Dark Horse is nice and has its purpose. To buy one just to say you have a Dark Horse may be a disappointment.
Go with a GT Premium and save some money.
