I have a feeling he’ll get the ZR1 somehow. He does talk about it a lot.
I don't know the guy but based on his posts I don't think he is ever buying a ZR1, Z06, GTD or anythink like those.
He is rocking a 20+ year old mustang and seems like the guy to build it instead of buy it. Not a cut at all.

@Rocket Man

he was like the 1st person to have a CFTP GT500 and a C8 Z06… the guy is juiced TF in, he’ll get his hands on a GTD AND ZR1 before any of us see one at cars and coffee 🔒

my bad< I'll try to keep up better. I was talking about the 9secondko guy who was quoted upthread and thought we were talking about him ;) I have no doubt Speed Phenom will have a ZR1, Zora and GTD.

Um what? The mustang (current model year) is worth than some homes. That is not how class is determined.

Lmao you guys keep taking shots at him for no reason. Even reading the post I replied to, all he said is he wanted to see a track comparison because Speed Phenom does well with them and you just started taking shots at him 😭🤣

So I come back to thread and I am just sooooo hurt. 😢

If you can’t deal with an objective comparison, best look the other way. Because they’ll be everywhere once both cars are on the street.

I expect the Zr1 to smoke the GTD in every metric. But I still HOPE that somehow Ford packed more into the Mustang than they’re letting on, and it can bear the vette in some ways - especially the Nurburgring. It’s not like there’s no more time to tweak. And hopefully the GTD can improve in a big way with better weather (and hopefully different driver. I just don’t think that guy has it in him to push the envelope).

That was more of a reference to RebelMan’s post. Usually I can see where everyone is coming from, but that was crazy.

Most controversial topics I’ve seen on here in the past 3 months have either been about sales, EVs, whether or not a sedan should be called a Mustang, or the GTD’s official weight.

But some disappointment about the GTD was the straw that broke the camel’s back on someone being a Mustang enthusiast. 😂
Let's see... I step away for a little while, comeback and what do I see? A wolf in sheep's clothing...

I have a new z4 b58 m40i, but I’m not posting about it to justify anything. It’s a great car by the way.
There you have it.

Anyone can find disappointment in anything if they want to but it is not okay to say you are "disappointed" but then bash about. 9secondko is NOT a Mustang enthusiast and I called him out on that. An enthusiast by definition is "a person who is very interested in a particular activity or subject ". 9secondko's only interest was trash talking the Mustang GTD (and the brand in general).

Some people can read between the lines and some people can't.

You're conflating the Mustang GTD for the Mustang GT3. The GTD has never raced at Le Mans or Daytona, and neither has the ZR1. The Mustang GT3s did manage a 3rd place in LMGT3 at LeMans which was their highest finish in WEC as they went on to finish 13th and 17th overall out of 18 teams.
Negative. The message was implicit, and I believe he understood that. Perhaps you didn't?

Being a Mustang enthusiast doesn't mean you have to like them all.

Like? This is about respect and balance. Enthusiasts will have their preferences, but they will NOT bash another's. And contrary to disappointment is satisfaction and anyone can find that in anything if they want to too.

9secondko comments were not good intentioned. They were about verbally sabotaging a brand and for what purpose? He doesn't own a Mustang! Can you see the conflict of interest here? This is NOT enthusiast speak.

You're painting with a broad brush

A real enthusiast will also discern between what he likes and doesn't like, and doesn't blindly leghump anything Ford puts out with the Mustang name on it.

Again, the word for that, which I will repeat here and highlight for you, is balance.

Not sure if this has already been posted here but @Epiphany found the GTD curb weight over on M6G.

At 4,300 pounds, I'm no longer interested....not that I could afford one anyway. My vote just just shifted to the ZR1.
She's a bit of a chubster, but probably grateful for some hard rid....., driving.
What's with the automated manual, is it not a dual clutch set up?
