It’s usually around 4,000 miles when it gets better.I should have put the caveat that I never get good gas mileage this early in an engines life. Typically it takes me 1000-2000 miles before the engine settles in. That’s probably my biggest surprise. I replaced a 2020 Ford Explorer ST with my mustang and so far I’m getting right around the same gas mileage that I did with the Explorer with a much bigger engine. I’ll take that any day
Similar experience here, in Alexandria VA. mostly urban traffic, lots of Stop Signs and light on each corner...I'm at 13.1 now. But on weekend drives, I can get 26mpg (sometimes a bit more) on the highway...but that lasts only a few days as i return to the daily commute.95% heavy South Florida traffic (Miami) with lots of idling and I'm at 12.6 right now. I did do one 5 hr drive to North Tampa and was around 24-26mpg averaging 85mph but that quickly dropped once I returned to my regular routine.
Exact MPG I get! Impressive on a motor like this that just hit 1000 miles. I was averaging that in the 700s, however.Real good.
