Basically, the same way I keep myself from strangling people at work...weighing the consequences.
:cwl: I understand what you mean...

How indeed. Well, so long as there are no police around, a healthy run from a stop is a bit of fun, not to mention a clear shot on a highway on-ramp. Otherwise, as has been stated above, the price outweighs the speed, ticket/citation-wise. Most sports cars now have so much power that it's nigh unusable on the street, so the potential is nice as an ego thing, but for the most part it's something we all accept; the cars-and-coffee crowd forget that sometimes. The good news is that you can still rev that 5.0 with little worry, and enjoy the noise.

What's the best radar detector that doesn't cost $600 + (uniden 8)
Arrows are great because they tell me if something is up ahead (likely stationary) or behind me (moving/following). I run the R8 on a Blendmount under the rear view (powered with an adapter that connects to the rain sensor behind the rear view), Waze on AA and Highway Radar (app) connected Bluetooth to the R8. The latter gives you a heat map and uses crowd sourced reports much further away. It's a great setup/combo.

Did a bunch of research and found rdforums.org. Went with the R7 and waiting on a custom FW download from one of their members. Wasn't interested in running something else with my phone. I did use a blendmount though, love it

Nancy, is that … sorry couldn’t resist. Although wasn’t it she that made the phrase official?
I believe you are correct. She was referring to speed . . . :)

All fine and dandy till one time the car gets away from you, and these cars will very quickly, and you end up smashing up the car and possibly someone else along with you. I did all the stupid things growing up, but as I got older I got wiser and I now take "speeding" to a controlled track/course.

I remind myself that I don't need another 700 ticket. Besides there's to many idiots on the road that don't deserve a license, to do to much.

I'm not advocating drag racing from a stop light, just a healthy nudge once in a while when conditions are safe, ie no traffic, no rain, daytime, and no burnouts, even a 40-70 (or more speed limit permitting of course) on a highway on weekend mornings... Just a little of that 486hp, so you know it's there, not hooning it around. Got to enjoy a V8 just a bit every once in a while, otherwise why bother. Moderation is a thing.

... I also have an escort radar detector that also has a laser detector, WI state troopers run laser. If it goes off, jump on the brakes NOW. ...
laser detectors on radar detectors are one step above useless. when it goes off, they already have your speed. there's not even a 100% chance they will go off, though. if you're serious about avoiding laser, there are jammer kits because unlike radar which is a federal crime, you can legally jam laser in most of the US. just be sure to JTK because messing with police by doing JTG is how one more state gets on the list of ones that ban laser jammers or how you end up walking home. JTG also does not promise they will not pull you over, either. it just makes it more likely for them to get you for "failing to signal X feet before merging" or tint or something to waste your time

Not 100% true.

It serves as an indicator to pull over, get your license, registration, and proof of insurance out. 😆

And brake lights are an admission/acknowledgment of guilt?
