You jest! But there are actually hypermiling groups that get together and do _exactly_ this. I happened upon them when I lived in NoVA. These nitwits would group ride across the entire interstate at ~57mph

As you can imagine, they are not very popular among the driving public. I was fortunate one time out of 2 - I was on my bike, so I was able to pass them with prejudice.

Driving a Prius fast is like what I do with meals. I am light on the main meal and drink calories so I can splurge on dessert. If I had a Prius, I might even use the same justification to go fast.

Oh wait....what did that have to do with garage dust? Oops! I digressed.

I did my part to increase my carbon footprint by passing a pr!us slow rolling in a 65 zone Saturday. I was careful to use judicious amounts of throttle to ensure any hypermiling improvement they were getting was more than offset by the amount of exhaust my Mustang generated.

Yep, had a new Ford GT do the same to me the other day on highway. Saw him coming up from behind, he pulled alongside, gave it a quick blip and took off. Wanted to play, but had wife as co-pilot and she doesn't approve of my childish antics....
