I see some people posting about the most recent passes and hours and evolutions and House boost 2024 Mustangs and just thought I would clear the air
Some people are loving the cars, putting a lot of hate out there
here’s the facts as best as I can present them
First, there’s no special treatment there’s testing and development
Anytime anything is done vendors like me, Evolution house of boost we do testing and development for companies like Whipple
before the 2024 kits went to the general public they come to people like me who go out who are willing to push the envelope and do testing and development run the calibrations see how the vehicles run and see how they shift. See how they drive and give feedback input data logging info.
Anything needs to be addressed calibration wise can be done before the general public gets kits shipped to them.
On pumpkin right out of the gate, we put down about 760 wheel on the stage two calibration
We then dropped one pulley size and added some boostane in the car made 820s
Very impressive for the Whipple calibration and held fuel fine with the addition of a Vortech booster pump
Now the tricky things about the 2024 mustang is if the fuel system sees too much amperage draw, it will literally shut the fuel system down on you
For example, Evolution started with a 22 amp jms voltage booster and their fuel system was shutting down on them
To try to get a little bit more fuel out of the system we tried the Kpm 1000 hp system, we ran into the same issue as the car was drawing too much amperage and was causing the fuel system shut down. we decided to bypass the secondary pump with direct connection to the battery and that seem to fix the issue for the most part however, we were getting a check engine light with the fuel system
We spoke with the guys at Kpm and they sent us one of their 1500 hp modules which has its own standalone controller, they also sent us an additional wire set up that should keep the check engine light from coming on and so far it has
The KPM 1500 has had zero issues with the fuel system, shutting down. In addition there is no check engine light.
we also built the transmission our partners at Finish Line always do our transmissions with the Suncoast category two kits that we offer
1000 wheel, especially with the torque these things make the transmission will not last a long time. House of boost took their transmission out on their quest for the eights. We knew that would be an issue so we preemptively did the suncoast kit and our transmission.
At 750 to 800 you’ll be fine but when you start trying to push, you will need to do some work on the transmission. It’s not hard. The suncoast kits are great. We run them in our 1300+ horsepower car and they are awesome. But for longevity, you will need better clutches if you’re going to be trying around low or high eight for an extended timeframe.
fast-forward to all the low, nine second and the eight second passes
Again, there’s no special treatment from Whipple however we are all running an updated calibration That we are testing for Whipple that will roll out as an option for people to purchase
We are all running the 120 mm throttle body stage three type set up
Our particular car I’m running MS 109 with two cans of boostane 25 gallons of MS 109
When we tested last week on an E thirty mix of MS 109 and c85 the car was running lehn and was not what I consider safe
However, on ms 109 boostane mix, we held air fuel ratio exactly where we wanted to be
Both house of boost and Evolution are running 355 gears where we only have 315 gears.
We were hoping to crack eights on Sunday ourselves. But we had an issue with the track Thursday. Someone forgot to watch the hood and we lost our hood and aerodynamics is hurting pretty bad right now.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get there first next trip out well get there and with a 3.15.
Of course we’ve done some weight reduction. We got brakes, drag back all that stuff to pull some weight out of the car.
I can tell you there’s no way Evolution is running a 4270 pounds I know at least on the front they pulled the DH brakes and pulled 160 pounds there alone. what else they want to disclose that’s up to them. I know they tend to be a little bit more secretive, and that’s perfectly fine. It doesn’t matter matter how you get there as long as you get there well other than if you’re sneaking some spray or something in. Another thing you have to take into account where you run at
Evolution is running I believe it’s Cecil County, which is the fastest track in the country. Everybody says it runs down 1° angle and you’re running in 0 to negative DA air.
Will always be faster at sea level or negative DA. Anybody that travels the country races a different tracks knows sometimes you’re going to get a 4 tenths variance from track to track
I’m actually excited for mod nationals where we can all be at the same track on the same day and you can see the cars side-by-side.
it will be fun to see all these cars running side-by-side with no track advantage and see who is victorious.
at the end of the day, Whipple has done a flat out. Amazing job working on these calibrations.
I don’t think we’ve ever seen an eight second pass, let alone consistent high, eight / low 9 cars out of a factory carb legal tune
The cars are simply impressive. The Whipple is impressive. The tune is impressive.
At some point, Awning will probably be unlocked. Is it going to be a month? Is it going to be two years? Who knows?
But on average at low 9s and high eights, this is more than 95% of the general public even plans or needs to go.
The guys over at Whipple have just went above and beyond and put together probably the most impressive setup we’ve seen out of a manufacturer calibration.
