How would you rate the Mustang VS Porsche, M5 etc.?

I have a very skewed opinion on this mustang in particular. My parents have had several foxbody’s. They both had a four eye when they met in the 80s. Throughout my childhood, we had several more and recently built a couple. So having the new Mustang pull some design cues made it a 10/10 on emotional appeal. Throw in a whole lot of tech, creature comforts, and 486 hp V8 that I average over 20 mpg with and closer 25 mpg on the highway and it scores very high for me in many other categories. I mean talk about innovation. V8 car weighing close to 3900lbs getting the same mpg as my 1998 Mazda 626. Granted, that’s with commuting and not including canyon runs.

Seems like a lot of the categories are subjective which makes it hard to really argue for or against people’s ratings.

If all cars had the same price, I would still choose the Mustang. But yeah, I understand that other brand are high end luxury cars and the Mustang isn't.

Awards like this are not the same as a road test shootout.

Was anyone here cross shopping a Bentley before they bought a Ford?
I mean, I WAS... But I decided that living in my house with a GT was more realistic than in a car that I would be making payments on for the next 30 years.
