The F-150 Powerboost has the electric motor in the 10R80

If it might be close to 621 hp / 627 lb-ft torque, then you're looking at 2025 Audi RS7 (4-door sedan) pricing which starts at $130k. 😲
no thanks.
A nice modern SVO would be great (minus the extra doors it would be saddled with. That should really be a different nameplate if they go with it. though it would be bested by a GT with dealer installed blower) followed by the same treatment given to the next Boss or Cobra v8 with 1000+ horsepower.

Not related to this topic, but can we just take a second to appreciate the surfacing on this portion of the s650? The fastback and rear haunch shape on this car is pure sex, that is all.

We can debate the s550 vs. s650 design all day long, which one is better. But the beltline is way better in this car. It's mostly flat on the s550, not a ton of verticality, which can make the car look a bit chubby. The fact that the s650 rear haunch doesn't just flair out, but also rises up a ton looks amazing, super exotic/muscular.

I genuinely hope that same sort of shape is something Ford retains moving into the future, because it's the essence of everything the mustang should be. People saying it looks like a Camaro have never seen the haunch on a '67 or '70 mustang. Because this looks just like that.

For a heavier “refresh” I like it.

People always compare designs with everything and complain. All they really did with the Mustang was add sharper edges and some black accents in the front, that’s enough for them to say it’s a Camaro. 😂

It shows their lack of knowledge on car history and classical design cues for sure.

Looks wise, my 2024 is starting to grow on me. Was tempted to buy a used 2020 ecoboost with the performance package in dark blue, no stripes. I drive backwoods roads to work, thought the stiffer suspension would be a beast with all the potholes and crappy road repairs like culvert replacements I deal with.

Hybrid though. I think a ecoboost with a powerpack much like the dodge 3.6 has would be nice. A 75-100hp motor with a small battery preferably in the trunk / backseat area for weight balance.

These things are wired and computer up like crasy already. Atleast have some wires that add some extra horsepower.

MArketing wise, it's hard to sell a RWD 2 door. I don't think adding a few mpg's or another 75 or so hp to the ecoboost is going to change sales. If anything it may make the line between the 4cyl vs the v8 smaller and cause sales to drop. With coporate average fuel economy stuff, They may more have to change the v8 than the 4 cylinder to make their mpg numbers line up better.

I do enjoy what the ecoboost is. Cheap but fast for the money. MY commute destroys cars in the rural catskill mountains in NY. It's nice I can drive a fun car and not hurt my wallet. I have seen cars with strut rods popped though the hood more than once on my way to work. Ball joint separation. I usually bend a rim every 2 or 3 years. Could afford alot more car, but glad there's one out there like what I have. only paid 29k from koons ford.

Can we stop pretending like a hybrid 4 cylinder would be cool? If that's what you're looking for, Ford is not the place you should be looking. Give me a V8 with a battery in the front for some nasty launches. Otherwise, get this garbo out of here. If you want fuel economy, buy a Toyota

I'll bite, I think a hybrid 4-cylinder Mustang would be cool under a few conditions.

1. It doesn't outperform the GT performance wise.

2. It does outperform the current EcoBoost for daily driving applications. (Minimal to no turbo lag switching gears, zero lurching, identical if not better fuel economy, can be potentially optioned with the Performance Pack)

3. It sounds better from the outside and inside than it currently does. (BRZ, WRX, and there has to be some other modern examples of good sounding 4-cylinder cars...)

All that said, I'd prefer a hybrid V8 Mustang GT over a hybrid EcoBoost. Actually, I'd be even more down for an AWD GT, hybrid or not. Sadly, I don't think they'd make it as an option between the standard GT and the Dark Horse.

I wonder. The signs say fuel drain, but those gray plastic covers look more like Propane spigots to me.
