Yeah, the cupholder ring is a little ridiculous in price considering once you actually get the part and how small it is. I had some leftover Fordpass points to use to helped with that item, so my cost was primarily the door handles and grips.

Now, if you want to talk pricey..........the vent pieces are just that. I'm changing my method here, and looking to pull those parts and tape/hyperdip those chrome surround pieces.

Going to do same with steering wheel; however, I don't want to pull that off, and a little weary about spraying inside the car. Maybe a car wrap shop won't charge too much to just wrap those 3 small areas on the wheel.

Got the handles and cupholder trim on. Nice subtle differences, especially the door handles.

After getting some part numbers for the vents......seems like a lot of extra $$$ just to rid the chrome trim pieces. So thinking of taking those off and hyperdipping those pieces instead, since they don't see a lot of touching/traffic. So then it's a matter of the chrome pieces on the steering wheel....not sure if a shop could just wrap those in place without having to remove the wheel or anything like that.

Very nice and this is definately a thing I will do.
The only thing is, I am 0 mechanical and have 0 tools yet. I want to learn to do some things on my own, but not going to start with sonething like this and get myself in some trouble.

Would love to see a video or something that I could follow step by step.

It's honestly not that bad at all. Hardest part was getting the ball out of the older door hinge, takes some pressure/prying to do it. Just take your time and care. Use some rags in creases when prying off the trim pieces to avoid scratching the other parts of the door. I used this video to get an idea of what is necessary. Just obviously stops at a certain point as you're not installing these special type of handles:

What a coincidence, I just watched this video after making my comment to have a look at how it works.

Just by looking, I scratched some parts or broke some tabs 🤣
This is something that I will 100% screw up. I think I might pass this upgrade unfortunately.
Too much plastic where you should apply pressure with the risk to brake or scratch things.

Definitely worth the squeeze just to not have all the finger print smudges you get with the satin look.

Agreed, it cleans up the doors nicely. Just wish I could figure out a good way for the vent surrounds or the surround piece over the glove box. Tried to pull the one vent piece on driver side, but it goes behind the screen and felt like i was pulling on the screen at that point and gave up.

And the steering wheel pieces........ not sure worth the effort there.

For the money, the steering wheel is out for me. I’m going to see how wrapping the pony works out and maybe paint the other pieces.

Anyone have a link to video or steps to remove dash pieces, specifically the vent pieces as well as the piece over the glove box? Been searching, but no luck on the S650.
