Issues getting into 1st gear? 10 speed

Has anyone with a 10 speed had issues getting your car to start going when you put it in drive?

This morning I was leaving for work and when I tried to move forward in drive it would not go anywhere. Parking brake was off. I gave it a little more gas and it finally POPPED into gear and made a loud popping noise. Next time this happens ill try to put it in reverse and move the car a bit then go back into drive. Has anyone else had this issue? Drove the car on Friday no issues then.

No incline. Car was driven Friday but parked over the weekend and the car didn’t want to go into first gear. I had to give it quite a bit of gas for it to finally get into gear but heard a loud pop when it got into gear.
I drove it to work and it seemed fine.

I’d like to think I wouldn’t drive it after it did something like that, given I have a few other vehicles in the stable but ... I probably would have too.

We shouldn’t... but I get it.
I’d strongly suggest getting to a service department.

Once it got into gear it was fine. I was able to shift down to 1st seamlessly. Drove it during lunch no problem.

I have a 2020 GT with the same type issue. Setting in the garage you can put it in reverse and nothing happens (car doesn't go into gear). Wait 10 seconds, rev it up a little and it goes into gear, no loud pop. I took it into the dealer back in February to be checked out. The dealer said it would require a complete overhaul of the transmission. Also stated they were so far behind it would be June before they could complete the work. June came and went and no word from the dealer, so I called to check on my repair. I was told to bring the car back into the dealership. They checked out the car again and said nothing was wrong and no repairs would be made. I feel they are just waiting on my warranty to expire. Love everything about the car except the transmission.

Drove the car today and no issues. I might take mine to the dealer but will most likely be a waste of time for them since it’s not happening anymore.

My QUESTION would be did you set the parking brake when you parked that night ??

This sounds like the parking brake was set. Does the Mustang have an auto parking brake if it senses and incline?
I could swear it does as I never touch the ebrake and have had it on a few times when in my slight inclined driveway. It only did this when I first got it and I haven't noticed it sense.
But it did make me always check for the parking brake light before I drive away.

The parking brake was set, but it was turned off before i put the car in drive and tried to drive off.

The trans was definetly stuck or something. It only happened the one time and never happened again.
