I bought the @Form Lighting reverse light from Steeda which didn't mention compatibility issues, but apparently Ford uses two different connector sets for the taillights and of course mine are the "type B" style. The harness that Form sends with the light is TypeA only.

I tried contacting Form without any reply (it says to contact them on their web page), and Steeda has now updated the product page to mention the connectors.

The questions are:

1) The reverse light doesn't function at all, with just the reverse light connector attached. Is this expected because I don't have the taillight harness connected? Or is my light defective? I can live without the 4th brake light but I'd really the reverse light to work.

2) Does anybody have the part numbers for the male/female "type b" connectors? Wiring diagrams for both? I could repin the Form harness as a last resort...

3) Anybody get responses from Form through the support email?

Yes. You need to email them. They usually reply in 48 hours.

I asked them where my harness was 2 weeks ago and they said it was 4 to 6 weeks out.

Does your reverse light work without the harness in?

Dang I’m sorry you had to do all that work taking the bumper off to find this out! 😭

This might sound weird but flip the connection the other way, it looks like it doesn’t connect that way but it does. That’s how I got my reverse lights to work. Form also just emailed everyone like a week ago about they have a solution to the type B connectors and should start shipping them out in the next 6-8 weeks.

Thanks, solved that problem but I've been trying to contact @Form Lighting for two weeks and haven't gotten any reply. I'd at least like to get on the list for the new connector...

Luckily, you don't need to take the bumper off... but I installed the new reverse light and started feeding up the new wires/harnesses. Also took out the subwoofer. Just to find out that, yes, I had the wrong connectors for the tailights.

My original post about this is here:

Form Lighting LED 4th Brake Light - Different Connectors | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

My last email from them (on 3/31) says this:

Thank you very much for your continued patience in waiting for this updated harness. We apologize that it's taking longer than expected to get your replacement shipped out. We are pleased to inform you that our Engineering team has finalized the new harness design and successfully field-tested prototypes to confirm 100% functionality with the tail light connectors that are used in your Mustang.

It has been quite challenging to source this alternate connector for the new harness, which has been the biggest reason for the extended delay. We are now working on getting the updated harness completed and will be shipping it to you within 4-5 weeks. (We are very confident with this timeline based on the progress in production)

A replacement order has been submitted and we will email the tracking information to you as soon as your order is shipped. This new harness will replace the existing harness and you can dispose of the original harness once it's replaced.

We greatly appreciate your support and understanding through this unexpected situation. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with at this time.

Hey there!

Apologies for the late reply — our team was recently out of the office for an event and we just received the alert for your message.

Yes, we do have a solution on the way and are working hard to get it into the hands of everyone who’s been waiting. If you haven’t heard back from our team yet, we highly recommend checking your spam or junk folder. We've seen a few cases where replies have been rerouted by Google, which can definitely cause some frustration.

As always, our team is here at our HQ in St. Louis, MO and ready to help. If you’d like to speak with someone directly, feel free to give us a call:

Thanks again for your patience and support!
