I have them sitting in my shed, looks like a lot of work to protect pinch welds no one is seeing 😂

I have them waiting to be installed too. I’m really hoping completely removing the splash shields is not necessary.

It changes the install from a ramp install to a full blown headache 🤕

Putting mine on this weekend. I don't plan on removing the entire shield, just the screws on the outer edge to make it a little easier to cut.

Spoke to our team that installed these - video coming soon but:

It is not absolutely necessary to remove the panels, it just helps to clarify what is supposed to happen. The panels will need to be detached in order to remove the front bolts on both sides.

I installed the full length jacking rails from Steeda a couple of weeks ago. No need to remove any panels. I used a utility knife with a new blade to cut the panels where needed. Took maybe 5 mins to trim the panel and overall 10-15 mins to install the rails. This was completed with a jack and jack stands lifting the rear of the car via the factory jacking points. You want to lift it by the rear as you will need to space clear in the front jacking point area to install the rails.

I have these Steed 555-5205 jacking rails for a Dark Horse. The front bolts also secure a bracket that I don't see in any pictures. When loosening the bolts, the bracket starts to move from the body, so I immediately tightened back up.

Have I now messed up front end alignment or otherwise created a problem? Does the car need to be on jackstands on the pinch weld lifting points? The Steeda instructions say to have the car on the ground.

Installed mine with zero issues. I put it up on jackstands @ jacking points ID'd in a pic in another thread. No spinning bolts. Easy peasy.

I was wondering about these. I never had them on my S550 GT but I only had 1 set of rims and tires. I saw ItalianStallion410 had bought a set but the splash guards were an issue. You just installed over top of the splashguards or did you slide them under?

You have to make a couple of very minor cuts with a utility knife, but you don't have to remove the guards or anything like that. Very simple.

Has anyone put S550 jacking rails that are on the inside of the pinch weld on an S650? I believe it is the same as the Gen 6 cars since the floor pan is the same. https://www.cjponyparts.com/bmr-jac...ammertone-pair-mustang-fastback/p/BMRCJR760B/
I tried today mine did not fit on S650, due to the length of these rails. But mine are full size and NOT the same as shown in the link.
Mine are little too long at the front. They don’t fit despite cutting the felt.
There is a high point right next to where you cut the felt for front bolts.
But these short chassis and steeda one are shorter so they should install ok but old BMR full chassis length one are long and they simply donfit.
I had these rails on my S550 but they do not install on my Dark Horse.
but ones shown in your link should fit fine.

I put the set I had on my 550 onto the 650 only trimmed some of the bottom cover to make them fit correctly.
