You guys don't have to buy it. Look away and enjoy the great 2 door coupes. I don't understand why you are making such a big fuss about something like that. Does it hurt your feelings?

Falcon, Lincoln, Fusion....has beens. Maybe something new and fresh will be amazing, who knows. But we are debating and whining about something, that is not even 100% confirmed yet.

So let us all wait and see what happens... at least we are getting options....

this makes the most sense.
Revive a cool name, satisfy whichever board member wants a 4 door car again, and leave the mustang legacy intact.

win-win.

mid the Mach e is any indication, abusing the Mustang model as a brand actually hurts sales instead of helping.

let’s stop with the nonsense and do it right - give another car another name.
Still an advocate for the Falcon name. It’s the closest you can get to a Mustang in relation for marketing purposes while being its own thing.
Does the name make the car or does the car make the name?
Looking at the info 9secondko gave on the Mach E looks like it’s the car.

You’re allowed to be critical of bad decisions or rumors that sound like lazy marketing. Lol. It’s not like we’re attacking you or anyone else personally.

I don't feel offended, no worries buddy.

But it is always negativity and moaning about something. This thread has 25 pages and we are not smarter than before lol

As said we should be thankful, that we may getting options and still having V8's and we should give everything a chance. I would definitely be looking into a 4 door model, but can also understand that some people may not find it attractive for a Mustang.

The good thing is that people could choose either model and be happy about it.

Well yes it’s cool to get another option but the argument is people would buy a performance sedan regardless of the name.

Which people in the thread gave evidence too. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you, as of last week she is cancer free. Started with double mastectomy, 5 weeks of chemotherapy 5 days a week with weekends off to "heal" was rough. Then pinpoint radiation therapy a couple times a month. Once her scans came out cancer free it was reconstructive surgery. Last week was the first scan since everything was done and it was clean.

Once I see these issues with the 2024+ Mustangs are resolved (engine issues, software issues) we will be looking to get another one.
That's great to hear. It's always nice to see stories of things going in the right direction.

So here's an out there idea I had. But we all know the backseat in the mustang is pretty useless. You might be able to get a toddler back there, but that's about it. I predict a lot of the mustang owners who genuinely want a usable backseat with gravitate to a mustang sedan upon release, further weakening the use case for the rear seat in the coupe.

So with that in mind, do you guys think Ford should make s750 a two seater? They could push the a-pillar back more, creating an even sexier and sleeker design. It would save on weight, and cost. Not to mention if the dash to axle ratio was extended noticably, Ford might be able to move the engine back a bit, effectively turning the mustang into a front mid engine design.

If s750 had these proportions, roofline, and hips, just with a better front end design, it would be really striking imo. That rendering basically looks like a '67 mustang fastback and a supercar had a baby. As someone who believes '67-8 fastback styling is peak mustang design, I want to see Ford lean even harder in that direction for the next gen. Just an idea on what Ford could do with the coupe if the sedan caters to the people who need a usable rear seat.

Introducing a performance sedan won’t affect it too much if named properly. I do think the Mustang has been leaning too far on the GT side of things for awhile, as far as size goes. People want more room but it honestly needs to get lighter and smaller, especially since Mr. Farley is serious about taking on the best in the world.

Maybe keep the rear “seats” or do like a shelf thing like the RX7 had 😂

I test drove two CT5s yesterday. I'm not sure if it's considered a compact or midsize sedan, but I was pretty impressed by it, particularly the one with the V6. It sounded surprisingly nice and drove even better than what I was expecting. Luxurious yet engaging.

If they manage to make the Mach-4 like the Panamera (that is, a large/midsize sedan that feels and performs more on the level of cars smaller than it), I think Ford will have a real winner on their hands.

For Door's Sake! :D

People seem to forget, that the Mustang (whether you see it as a brand or not) is a global car since 2015. Hence Ford doesn't care if they meet the needs of the American people solely, but globally.

Fair enough you have the Lincoln or Fusion, but us Europeans don't have that and they discontinued the Ford Mondeo (which was our only Sedan) 2 years ago.

I think a 4 door Mustang will also get more attraction in the Asian markets, especially in China where there you only have 2l engine for the (still operating) Ford Mondeo.

Of course we can debate whether the naming is good or not, but I think Ford tries to establish the Mustang as we know as a seperate brand including SUV's, coupes, Sedans and maybe also a Dakar version like Lamborghini and Porsche did.

At the end of the day we need to see and wait but generally I would give everything a chance and I am not aversed if a 4 door would come out and being a rival for Audi A5 Sportback/A7, Porsche Panamera, BMW 8 series, Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes AMG GT 4 door, BMW 4 series gran coupe etc.

And btw I am happy that we are discussing things like that, rather than debating about EV's....

gross. One looks like a charger pretending to be a mustang and the other looks like a Mach e suv beaten with an ugly stick.

no thanks.

Just like we didn’t buy the Mach e.

people like their products to have distinct identities. No one likes to have their chain yanked by Jimbob trying to show off to the ceo that his new “trick” can sell a few more cars. It doesn’t work.

The Mustang, perhaps more than any vehicle in history, has a very distinct identity as a two door sports coupe with big power available for a smallish car.

it’s a car respected and dreamed about the world over.

if you don’t need a Mustang, don’t buy one. If you need a door factory, go buy one instead.

Sounds like you don’t need a mustang, you need a 4 door car or suv.

nobody is happy about mistaken identity or identity theft.

and that’s all this would be.

hate to be the party pooper but that just looks like the 2013 s197 gt500 we already had, but more cartoonish - with a touch of s550.
Time to move forward.

Going off topic for a bit...I'm a fan of the New Edge Mustangs (they're what got me in to Mustangs in the first place), what do you like and dislike about your Terminator Cobra?

Time changes mate. But I feel you with the naming. Maybe instead of Mustang, it could be something else (new). If not (as said), Ford probably tries to brand a seperate brand identiy with different line up's in the future. We just don't know yet.
