Your dealer/salesman should be able to tell you if it was ordered "stock" or "retail". It should also be on the copy of your DORA, I believe.

So educate me. What is considered a "stock order". I also have a GT350 on order, is that considered a "stock order" or something else. I'm still waiting on a VIN # for that order. Thanks
Stock orders are supposedly on the way to the dealer to sit on the lot until someone buys it.
Retail/sold orders are on the way to the dealer for a specific customer.

They build up a supply of stock orders first for a couple reasons. 1, so that cars are available when they are supposed to be. 2, its easier to make last second repairs/part-swaps when they are sitting on the lot still. 3, easier to re-build a car if theres an issue in early model year production.

So they build a month of stock orders, verify they are built right, then start scheduling/building retail orders.

Retail orders have priority codes 10-19. Stock orders have priority codes 20-99. (1-9 are reserved for GOTTA HAVE IT NOW orders and can only be approved at the regional manager level.)

Your priority level can be found on the order sheet and DORA forms which you should have a copy of (if you asked).

As of today, no 2016 cars will show up in Cotus. Stock or retail. Stock orders won't show at all, retail orders should start showing up probably after Labor Day. If you haven't already, PM Deysha all your info and she will keep you in the loop.

So I would have a retail order. It was ordered to my specs and I'm currently waiting on delivery.

Hi there. New member here with a '16 GT PP on order.

I have a VIN, but COTUS shows "no matching vehicle" and that I should contact my dealer for updates. I placed my order two weeks ago. Is there any reason my VIN isn't triggering a status in COTUS?

None of our 2016 orders that have VINs have shown up in COTUS. I wouldn't expect it to show anytime soon. You will need to contact Ford Service or your dealer. COTUS is a BETA program so it isn't very reliable.

That would explain it. Thanks, appreciate the info.

Got some bad news today! I was on the build site and there was some sort of glitch that made me change my order. I changed it back after I realized it was a glitch but doing so it delayed getting my vin. I was supposed to get it today now it may be delayed another week or two.
