yeah, thieves really like the new vehicle cats. my dealer once had someone overnight steal cats off an Econoline (yes, they still make those brand new) and try to steal a DPF from i think an F-600. key word there is "try", i think they realized the trouble with stealing such a big piece. we also used to get about one F-59 Amazon van in per week with stolen cats, but that slowed down a lot. those 7.3L V8s sound pretty good cat-lessOn the day I took receipt, a couple were picking up a brand new F150. Cats? Gone. Cut out the night before. At the dealer.
New vehicles are prized. The internal metals are not spent as much as a used unit and are worth more. Tundras are #1 on the hit list; they have multiple, large cats and easy access.
