What is this wiring loom behind the lower grille for?

The connector seems to have a weather seal plugged into it.
By the looks of it, there's a nipple which could be cut to facilitate a wire.

As per forum signature, this is an Aussie RHD MY24.50 (Job #2, built late June '24) GT 6-Sp manual.

Anyone else have something connected to this loom?
And if so, what the hell is it? !!!

I believe this would be the ambient temperature sensor.

These are typically affixed to the lower grille area on modern vehicles to read the outside temperature.

Ah yes.
With that picture of the component, I can now see the upper part of it obscured by the grille, which wasn't obvious before.

I thought it was a clip holding the connector there.

That is exactly what it is, and if you power wash your car, do not spray the connection directly!
