I forgot yo say I'm a high school student so I'm kinda broke but i do have a job and a budget of around 1.4k for both tire and wheel. I would prefer something that has more traction aswell

for the size here is what I would do soon to my car

19" wheels
10" front offset 32mm to 37mm
11" back offset 52mm to58mm

tire size
front 275mm or 285mm
aspect ratio 35

back 305mm
aspect ratio 35

and don't cheap on tires it is one of the most important things on a mustang

Wheels
so, wheels have 3 important dimensions to them. diameter, width, and offset.

diameter is obvious, the diameter of the wheel in inches.

width is the distance between the outer edges of the bead seat, which is where the bead of the tire sits, and is usually also in inches.

offset is how far away from the center of the wheel the mounting surface is from a side view. this is usually measured in mm and abbreviated "ET", though some sources will just have a plus or minus with the offset and "mm" at the end. some dont even put "ET" or "mm" at the end, though. a negative offset means the mounting surface is more towards the back of the wheel, where a positive offset is more towards the front of the wheel.

a much less important measure is "backspacing", which is the distance to the mounting surface from the rear edge of the wheel, usually measured in inches. almost nobody actually uses this measure for much of anything, though, so its probably safe to just ignore it

here's an example, 19x9.5 ET+52.5. this example is a GT performance pack rear wheel.
it is 19 inches in diameter, 9.5 inches in width, and has a positive 52.5mm offset

there are also 4 main ways of making wheels. cast, low pressure cast, flow form, and forged. cast wheels are made by pouring the molten metal (usually some aluminum alloy nowadays) into a mold for the wheel. these are usually inexpensive, but have a chance of having air bubbles and are rather heavy.

low pressure cast wheels are made in a similar way, but the mold has a vacuum pulled in it, meaning that air bubbles are basically a non-issue. they are a little more expensive than regular cast and in theory can be ever so slightly heavier.

flow formed wheels are basically low pressure cast wheels, but the barrel (the part that makes up the actual width of the wheel) is drawn out and extended by some method. these are stronger, but also more expensive.

forged wheels are when a solid block of metal is taken, and the wheel is milled out of it. i dont know why they didnt just call this style "billet" like everything else does. due to the cost of materials, machines, and the time to design a wheel, these are very, very expensive, but also incredibly strong.

you also have different wheel materials, mainly steel, aluminum, magnesium, an alloy of aluminum and magnesium, and carbon fiber. carbon fiber wheels are made in a much different way and are also the most expensive but incredibly light and strong. most wheels are made with either aluminum or the aluminum-magnesium alloy.

Tires
tires also have 3 important dimensions, being the width, sidewall ratio, and wheel diameter, like "315/30R19". well, for most of them thats the numbers. some off-roading tires do overall tire diameter, width, and wheel diameter, like "37x13.5R17", and motorsport tires do width, overall tire diameter, and wheel diameter, like "30/65-18".
i will be focusing on the standard tire sizes, not the off-road or motorsport ones.

width is how wide the tread is. wider means more contact patch and more ability to put power down to the road, but too wide is not great due to increased friction and weight that can rob power. width is always measured in mm.

sidewall ratio is a percentage. it is how tall the sidewall is compared to the tire's width, so a "30" sidewall on a "315" width tire is 30 percent of 315mm, so 94.5mm. more sidewall can increase comfort at the cost of responsiveness, and less sidewall can increase responsiveness at the cost of comfort.

wheel diameter is what diameter wheel the tire gets mounted on. pretty simple

Other Notes
when researching tires, most manufacturers will tell you what width wheels certain sizes will fit on. this is not standardized, and neither is where the actual points of measure of tire width, leading to some tires of the supposed "same" size being slightly wider or narrower than another. if the manufacturer does not say what width wheel the tire will fit on, Tire Rack likely does.

when swapping your rear tires, you will want to stay to a similar circumference to your factory tires so your speedometer is still accurate, unless you feel comfortable getting FORScan and changing the tire circumference in the BCM.

avoid really suspiciously cheap wheels and tires. there is a reason why they are cheap and it has a fair chance of causing serious safety concerns.

in my opinion, forged wheels are not worth the insane premium they command. flow formed wheels are the best of most worlds.

your budget of ~$1400 is probably not enough to get a good set of wheels and tires. i recommend you save up some more, that way you dont compromise. ~$3500 will get you a very nice set of wheels and tires, depending on the tire brand, compound, and width, and the wheel manufacturer and wheel build process

i hope this was helpful, and i wish you much luck on your search!

would recommend going with 19'' or 20'' the budget will limit you very much but im sure there is something out there for that price! 19x10 19x11 is a very common setup that gives it a great look and better performance

Your best bet would be to find a set of take offs that you like with a quality tire on them. With that budget you are getting wheel OR tires(assuming you want a quality tire that will say connected to the road). Unless you have a tire shop at school you also need to factor mounting and balancing into your budget.
